Update on Sept 1st 2013: I remade the tutorial almost completely because the old one kinda sucked. If anyone is interested about the old version it's here: i.imgur.com/VrFRPVE.jpgSince I get asked about which tool I used a lot, this improved version is done with the basic brush tool.

tutorials are hard to make...Anyway, when ~Rustic-Moonlit-Rose commented that the fire in raycrystal.deviantart.com/art/… looks amazing I said that tutorials could help her but she said that there aren't any for Sai really and I noticed that too so I thought I could make one since I like drawing fire
So yeah... I hope it's good
By the way, I used the watercolor tool (like I always do).
Since people are asking about it, the settings I use are 0 for blending, 50 for dilution, 80 for persistence.
EDIT: Holy f--- O_O I wake up in the morning and what do I find...? 2000 faves!!! +40 watchers more
I thought this would get around my usual 200... thank you so much guys

Really simple, didn't bore us with brush settings, etc. Also very nice. The only fire tutorials I've seen are in PS with fancy custom brushes, thanks~ ^^

You think you could give a tutorial on flames as if they were being spurted- like the backfire from a car exhaust pipe? Noone seems to have a tutorial on that.

Dude beat flame tutorial out for paint tool sai do a youtube video im aure u will get hundrea of thpusands of vids as this is a very hard thing to find or do... Did u use different layers or is it all 1 layer

Ok really is impressive hiw u did the flame thriwer 1 i did ir for a dragon pic. i use a tblet but dont have pen sensitivity so was very hard for m2 to follow to beginwith but my 2bd attepmt i figured out how to smooth off the lines like urs. .. Took a long time... What tools did u use plz and did u blur at all?

Something went wrong when i upgraded my conp
When i got my tabket i was running a stoneage comp with windows xp and it worked fine there but i bought myself a new como with windows 7 already built in and when i did my programs to use tabket it wouldnt let me saying drivera not conpatable and after a long search i found new drivers i installed them but wouldnt allow me pen sensitivity and i really dont no y

It would be easy with watercolor tool if you would have pen sensitivity but as you don't have it I suggest you use blur tool and set the density higher, then it doesn't just blur but also smoothens and "blends".
