Description Okay, here's the second figure of my in-the-works "Batman/Superman: Taking the Mantel" fancomic cover. Next comes putting both figures on the same background (which I need to find reference for) and then doing up a logo that matches their tweaked symbols.

As it is, however, I had originally HATED how Dick's head turned out in the inked portion of this drawing. Yet, I am ultimately pleased with how it turned out colored. I'm actually pretty proud of it so don't bash it too much, guys.

Oh, and for those who don't know or forgot, this drawing is of Dick Grayson (the original Robin and now Nightwing) as Batman after taking taking the mantle of the Bat in the wake of witnessing his mentor's death via gunshot under the chin. As Conner Kent has taken over being Superman and changed the costume to acconmadate his personality, so has Dick; blending the cape-free Nightwing costume with a darker, more brooding Bat symbol and colors.

Looks pretty good man, the colors work well and it escapes that connection to the other incarnations of the bat.

nice work,

Thank you, Nick. My original idea was to have the bat symbol light blue on black--as with the Nightwing costume--but, where as that looks fantastic on that outfit, it doesn't work well with the Batman persona. Not to mention, it turned out too close to the Nightwing costume to actually be anything but a minor tweak with a cowl. Anyway, that's again for the comment, dude. I really am proud of how this turned out--especially the shine on his escrimas.
