Description
A tarn below Park Butte Reflects Mt. Baker.Mt. Baker National Recreation Area, Washington
*Using a circular polarize in these conditions with a wide angle lens has an interesting effect on the sky. I'm not sure weather I like it or not, let me know what you think.

Simply stunning! I'm no photographer so I don't know much about technicalities, but I kind of like the way the sky looks gradiented - was that the light or the effect of using lenses/filters?
Anyway, it's featured here: [link]

Thanks! It was twilight and I was using a polarizer. When using a polarizer on wide angle lenses, the sky can appear uneven, but I think it works for this shot too!

I'm OK with the polarized band its its balanced by lightness on each side. This is really beautiful. Its like a painters pallette with its dobs of colour and its a little sureal with no horizon and the clear reflection. Love it

Thanks, thats how I felt about it, the effect added balance if anything IMO.

Just... Welcome!
Oh come on, seriously, why is it so that I make the silliest remarks on the most beautiful pictures? I always feel as if I'm totally underestimating the image that has strong emotional impact on me if I start talking about how great the composition/exposure/lighting/whatever is
Once again...

At first look I could just tell it was a great shot, the best shot i think I have seen from you this year. If its the polarizer that's creating that gradient effect, I think it looks cool...only you know for sure.

Thanks, I'll be uploading a few more from this area, but, I agree with you in that these are some of my best of the year.

Gracias. The stillness in this photo doesn't do justice to the stillness in real life. That place was really amazing. Also, if you are interested in a print, this image is now on my website.

Thanks for the input. Compared to images without the polarizer, the mountain and glacier has much more contrast too, making it stand out as well.
