Description
Since day one of living in Seattle, I've wanted to see orca whales in the Puget Sound. I had heard stories of people seeing them from shore around the city, but never in a million years did I think I'd be lucky enough to see them myself. The water is not that interesting, but that distance fog is fantastic! Definitely gives that morning/sunrise feel to the picture, unless it's the sunset. I have to praise you for the format of the picture as well - it has a nice aspect ratio. This picture is golden.

Amazing shot! Are they still in the area? You should go to Lime Kiln Point on San Juan Island sometime. It's one of the best land-based whale watching spots in the world, and the resident orcas literally pass within a few yards of the rockery to play in the kelp forests. There's a decently priced campground nearby as well.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one to do landscapes in portrait views!
Wonderful as always!
