Description
This is an example of a scavenger form of the Neo-Humans. It is this creature that the sentient Neo-Human evolved from. This is a basic design.Related content

I have scanner issues too . I think the concept is interesting but as someone who likes to be as scientific as inventive, I also dislike it. I understand the reason to be creative with it though. It is descended from Homo sapiens, right? Just with genetic modification and viral infection?

Yes, genetic engineering and evolution played the primary role its creation, while the virus caused the loss of sentience. What may I ask, do you not like about it hmmm? I am quite open to criticism.

Well, what I meant is, I generally do not favor future human concepts. I am highly conservative in the area of future human evolution, meaning that even though they are entertaining and aesthetically pleasing, designs that deviate greatly from normal human anatomy are not logical. I do enjoy thomastapir's and even your concepts, I just have the voice in the back of my head going "It's not logical" and "it wouldn't work in a real world hypothesis".

Ahh, I see. I just wanted to take the traditional hum,an, and just change it so much that barely any human-like qualities are present. I also try to be as realistic as possible, but remember, I'm only 17 and I love to make my own rules.

Ahh, reduced frill for scavenging efficiency (reading over notes)...Gotcha, it's coming back to me now.

Ha ha! i've been wondering, your drawing look like they are only in pencil, how do you get them to scan so clearly? Mine look so good in real life, but the scanning process screws them up.

Hmm, I'm not sure...I usually do the base drawing in a fairly hard pencil, usually an H or 2H. If you do the whole drawing that way, it should limit the amount of smearing from graphite dust. But I don't think that's the only reason, because I often add shading with B, 2B or softer--and then smear it around (with my fingers!--graphite is greasy anyway) to soften it up. So some of my drawings are pretty messy. Umm, let's see, what other factors...After scanning, I do often end up with at least a partial "halo" of smeared graphite outside the lines of the drawing, and that I just clean up in Photoshop, using Marquee as often as Pen to select and clear. Reducing to grayscale and tweaking the contrast in curves sometimes helps. So the short answer is, I'm not sure! Perhaps a hardware issue...?

maybe, I'm not very computer savy, so i kind of just wing it.

Dude, this looks so different from my conception of how the scavengers would look that it makes me want to do my take on them just for comparison. It's cool though, really streamlined...Funny, I pictured you doing the crest/frill more pronounced than my interpretation, if anything. I like it, I like the beak! I think that's pretty much the way I pictured the beak looking, but maybe heavier towards the front. Damn, now I've got to do my version before it fades...Nice work!

Well, when the Prima Virus destroyed the growth of intelligence, the skull over time once again became hard, as growth was no longer occuring, and the frill lost its purpose. Many species lost it, or kept a smaller version of it. Some though such as the herbivore you drew and the predator kept it and changed it radically, The herboivore you drew, kept it for defense and display, and the predator Neo-Human for only display. Only The male predator has the large frill, and females have a smaller plainer one.

Well, this is just one of the many forms the Children of the Path became. It evolved from small predatory Neo-Humans. Due to its diet, it evolved an extremely strong immune system, which over time destroyed any effects that the Prima virus had caused. This allowed for the potential of sentience to rise again. This seemed unlikely however, as intelligence was not necessary for its lifestyle. This would soon change....
