My precious captain will grow up to suit his badass hairstyle, but initially he was just too serious, eager to please and just being a strict rookie. Thankfully his brothers are much more free spirited so they help him adapt. Aaand a certain commander and her direct and friendly behavior also helps his personality to start shine through his training. (yeah Aira-ty loves Jesp very much, she's very attached to him and also to her whole squad and she really treats them as family, and after the war they will be a family actually... I love the found family trope, ok...? xD )
Also they're such babies here yet, little rookies, no scars yet, no trauma, nothing..... (both Jesp and Gallant will end up with quite visible facial scars later)
