Whoever is able to understand how feels Kerchak loves him. Can not do otherwise.

At least it's better to die honorably in the jungle than to be reduced to a stuffed gorilla.

Yes, this is true. At least Tarzan knows that Kerchak loved him like his own son.

It's just sad that it came a tad too late, when Kerchak was on his deathbed, so to speak.

Indeed it was upsetting that it came too late. It's just Kerchak couldn't trust Tarzan even when he saved the entire troop from being killed by Sabor.

I think he did trust Tarzan after that, to an extent, when he asked him to protect their family.
But you could tell there was still a bit of a wall between them.

BrutusCrow In reply to unicorn-skydancer08 [2013-03-13 00:21:22 +0000 UTC]
Right, that wall was still there. And it didn't help when Tarzan was getting closer to Jane and the rest of the group of people.

Kerchak does have his reasons to be on his guard, but man, he seriously needed to loosen up.
Then again, maybe the death of his and Kala's baby made him more wary and stoic.

Agreed, he did needed to loosen up. I imagine the death of his child did make him this way. And it doesn't help that he is a silverback either. Aggression may have taken part of it too.

A lot of males are like that. They don't take kindly to outsiders or to their authority being questioned.
It was so sad when the baby gorilla died. From the little game with the frog to Sabor's murderous snarls...oh man. That was a pretty bold step for Disney.

Oh yes of course. I am a male so I know how it is. Disney has always been bold. Not just with Tarzan. If you remember Oliver and Company. Those two dobermans were electrocuted on the train tracks.

And the train hit a car dead-on, with the driver still inside.

Exactly. Disney has always been bold with their movies.

They still retain some censorship. In some cases, that's a good thing. I personally don't believe in being so blatant.
Like when Clayton's corpse was dangling from the vines; you caught a brief but intense glimpse at his shadow from the lightning.

Yeah, that is true. Disney does know how to do a good job with their movies. Especially for kids. I simply miss the older traditional animated movies.

You can say that again. They say people aren't interested in 2D anymore; I say that's a bunch of cock and bull.

Amen to that. Granted some cgi movies are good. But it is overused way too much.

Yeah, every movie they do is in that format. Perhaps one day, when Disney isn't so cheap. It will go back to the older style.

unicorn-skydancer08 In reply to BrutusCrow [2013-03-15 15:49:23 +0000 UTC]
It's possible. Even if not, there are plenty of other people that are interested in 2D animation. Disney just happens to be the top dog.

BrutusCrow In reply to unicorn-skydancer08 [2013-03-17 03:09:48 +0000 UTC]
Well, I wouldn't say that Disney is the top dog for cgi animation. Dreamworks is up there as well.

It's a pity Dreamworks gave up 2-D animation, too. They really could have gone somewhere with it.

The Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas.
They called it "tradigital" because it was traditional animation mixed with computer animation.

Oh I see. That is pretty much how most cartoons are nowadays. They always mix cgi or it is cgi completely.
