Description
Another of my own characters created based on Midway's Mortal Kombat mythology and my favorite so far.
My story for her: Miko is the niece of Hanzo Hasashi (more commonly known as Scorpion). She was the sole survivor of Quan Chi's brutal massacre of the Shirai Ryu one year before MK1. Miko had taken a bad slash to the head and was left for dead. Still just a child at the time, Miko was discovered and taken care of by a hermit living in the mountains near the Shirai Ryu village. As she grew up, Miko's mother appeared to her in a sequence of dreams in which Miko learned of her family's past, the rivalry between the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei, and the location of documents that could teach her the ways of her clan that were hidden away in the ruined village. Miko eventually went to the ruins and found the documents along with her mother's uniform and weapons. Believing the Lin Kuei to be responsible for her family's death she trained for years in order to avenge them, then one day she heard stories of a ninja specter named Scorpion, clad in yellow and wielding a kunai as a spear. Through the dreams with her mother, Miko knew she had an uncle named Hanzo who had used that codename. She now had a new quest, to find her uncle who had apparently come back from the dead. Donning her mother's uniform and kunai spear, she set out to locate Hanzo Hasashi, and if any Lin Kuei crossed her path they'd better beg for mercy.
Her outfit is based off of a female version of what I've considered to be the traditional Shirai Ryu costume as it's been Scorpion's most consistent one, as well as the mask worn by the other Shirai Ryu in Deception's Konquest mode. The attack of her people by Quan Chi left her with a long scar down the right side of her face and no right eye. Miko is self-conscious of this and on top of wearing an eye patch, she tends to keep the right side of her face covered by her hair. I've a second costume in mind for her that has her unmasked, with a sheer catsuit covered by a corset-like top, a long slit skirt that covers only one leg, shoulder pads based off the Shirai Ryu mask, forearm pads instead of gloves and boots instead of greaves. I've hinted at it with the portrait on the lower right, but I'll probably make a full drawing of this as well just because I like the idea of her.
