**DA did something with the resolution so zoom in on it for good quality!**I know its a little dark but I hope you like it anyways.
Been working on this for about 3 days (not straight lel.)
I got this idea 3 days ago and I just wanted to do it right away. Now that it is finally finished I can say that I am happy with the looks of it.
I was a bit nervous at first cause I thought I had wasted my time making this cause I thought I wouldnt be able to make it look good but damn I did it hehe.

Archaic, brooding, mysterious... an impressive piece.
The striking contrast between the tonal reds and blacks with Twilight's mane really jumps out. Furthermore, the placement and flow of the mane enhance a kind of theatric appeal, creating an unfolding drama. This is central to the color composition, in my opinion.
Figure-wise, the sharp angle of the body, reinforced with the motion of the wings and mane, leads the eye from the bottom left corner to the top center of the image. This near-lying down pose resonates with the tears, intensifying the story therein.
I do wish Twilight's body stood out a bit more against the stonework. It's almost the same color as the ground, and the enshrouding black background serves only to add to the confusion of where the body meets the ground. It wasn't until a studied for a minute that I realized that Twilight is actually a part of the ground; the color mixing makes sense, but it sacrifices clarity in this regard. Perhaps a lighter red-purple where the light of the magma cracks hits her jaw and bottom of wings?
That being said, there is a certain appealing darkness to this work. The theme matches the mood set by the colors, and the style and form compliment it well. A solid example of how the dark can differ from macabre quite beautifully.

i get Twilight is being absorbed, but permanently, or to be reborn as Eath Princess? if the last, the earth may be trying, in its own way to help her. would be an awesome story.

I can't tell if Twilight is turning into some kind of dark crystal or has been impaled by dark crystals

My only problem with the Season 4 Finale was the fact that Twilight became the "Princess Of Friendship!".....
I mean really? Princess of Friendship sounds so damn wrong. I was hoping for something for my fav multi colored horse but no..
What this picture shows is that she is being consumed by the earth itself, and is slowly turning her into earth.
