Amazing piece. I can feel the dynamism and life emanating from it: the hydra (or whatever the three-headed monster happens to be) roars as it dives towards its prey, expecting to catch them in one swift bite, yet the flying T-Rex dragons (at least I think that's what they are) are set to escape, sure that their wings can out-fly this lumbering monster. I know you said this is a portfolio piece, but it strikes me as concept art for an awesome fantasy movie that's practically begging to be made. I see it as a side-story of the Tolkien Legendarium, but it can also work as its own creation.
My only criticism lies in the lack of background detail. I know the hydra head and flying dragon at the center are the main area of focus, but I would've liked to see the waterfall and forest in greater detail. I'm not saying you should indulge in scenery "porn" or anything of the sort, but a bit more detail would make this piece perfect. Be as it may, congratulations on a job well done.
