Do you know if gifs are copyrighted? For example if i used one in a video i created would i have to get the rights to use it???

I used to do gif animation with Animation Shop from JASC. Never did it with Photoshop. I guess i'm gonna give a shot for a comeback.Β Thanks for the tutorial, man!
