Description And the tail shot of the Nebraska Zephyr, with her name emblazoned on the very back. Maybe someday I'll get to take a ride onboard. That'd be pretty sweet.

Personally, I would also want to be in the very back and looking out that curved window. Something about watching things falling behind always looked neater to me than looking forward. Probably because we're always looking forward, or to the side when we're riding in cars, buses, trains and planes. A rounded view like that just makes it all the more unique.

It is a cool experience. The train's usually up and running most weekends at the Illinois Railway Museum. That's how I got to ride it. Ironically, passengers are much safer when seated facing backwards. Ironically, airlines can't sell tickets if they face their seats backwards.

It's been a long while since I was last there. I'll have to visit again.

Check the website ahead of time. Their calendar denotes what will be running what days.

Isn't it? Why don't we have more of these kinds of trains?!

The golden age is gone for many reasons.
