Description
Mavut is a large continent, straddling the far north. It is fairly mountainous, but unlike most other mountainous regions. Mavut is made up of one very large Mt.Feon, as opposed to a mountain chain. Mt.Feon is around 5x the size of Mt.Everest on earth. Having a height so large that nobody has even scaled up to a quarter of the height of the mountain. And the width of Mt.Feon alone takes up 1/5th of the whole continent. When you factor in all the other mountains, and the surrounding large hills. The total land area is most likely 1/3rd of the whole continent. Needless to say that civilization is not exactly thriving on Mavut. The area west of the mountains, has a warmer, wetter climate. With mild winters that make it excellent for agriculture. The areas to the east of the mountains however, is very cold and dry, being subject to very long winters. The northen taiga is basically uninhabited by humans, though a few elves live there. The mountains are surrounded by massive and steep hills. Inhabited by hundreds of tiny hill tribes that are difficult to get, and even harder to keep. And of course, the mountains are damn near impossible to live on.Of what there is, starting from the west. To the far north there is the island kingdom of Kongvas who is fighting the mainland kingdom of Telverick, just south of them. The hills and mountains are controlled by small tribal nations, and nomads. These small nations are incredibly difficult to control. And as such Kongvas doesn't actually control those coastal hills. Their rule being limited to their main island, fighting with Telverick over the two smaller islands in order to get a foothold border on the mainland. With a foothold border on the mainland, as well as the extra military and economic power from controlling the mainland, they could then more easily push into the hill tribes, and begin the process of "civilizing" them. Telverick however is there to stop them from getting onto the mainland. Controlling the Klud and Peld rivers, and controlling cities down all the way to krigmidd. They, however, are also incapable of fighting the hill tribes, mainly because they are busy fighting off Kongvas in the north. And making sure they aren't going to be invaded by Sudust in the south.
Sudust Mainly controls the southwestern coast and Klass river. Skelve prevents them from expanding eastward. And Telverick prevents them from expanding northward. So they mostly just peacefully trade along the coast of the Okav sea. And use diplomacy to avoid getting into a war with Telverick and Travedel. Skelve is a nation of elves that controls the central forests as well the Ol, and Erl rivers. They also control the Tysk lake. The fact that most of their territory is woodlands, means that Skelve is damn near impossible to invade. And most of their settlements are fortified with small stone walls to make invasions even harder.
To the east of Skelve is Rivia. They mainly control the Est river. As well as the port cities of Skalii, Litaun, and Liiam. They mostly just do trade and fight off invaders. To the north of them is Donard. A small nation built between the Lmmi and Torso lakes. They also mostly just do trade, as their land isn't very good for agriculture, outside of pastures. And finally the largest nation on the continent: Termarri. They control the most land of the whole continent. But are kept in check by having to fight wars against the nations of the southern continent: Nensurr, and the eastern continent: Dorrotos. This prevents them from focusing on the other nations of the continent. They also suffer greatly from bad agricultural land, which forces them to store and stock up on food. Thus requiring salt, which is mostly located in the hills, and controlled by the hill tribes. While this might seem like a disadvantage. It actually brings down the salt prices considerably. Thus Termarri makes very sure that the other nations of the continent, don't try and invade the hill tribes. Even if it means an embargo.
SO yeah it's been a little while huh? I actually started work on this a few days before uploading it so yeah, that's why it took so long. Anyways g'night.
