Description
I hate this thing. I spent far too much time on it for something I can't stand. I learned a lot building it, but mostly how I won't do things the next time around. I include it here as a placeholder for when I eventually build a space station with an arboretum that I don't despise.Originally planned to accompany my Astral Queen passenger liner.

id remove the center piece to this. The ring though I would add port entrances on the outside of it. It would function similar to HALO.

This is a good picture. I would call this a space habitat instead of a space station. The difference being the size and earth like conditions .

I'd say the main problem is... There's a lot of roads and parks... But where's the houses?
And yeah, the outer ring needs more subdivision!

The arboretum was supposed to be purely recreational. I was considering a few 'vacation' houses that one could rent, however.
I will almost certainly double the segments of the circle on the next attempt.

It was a good first attempt. Just need some more polygons and a little better texture work to get it away from that "model" look. If you're having trouble with the arboretum texture still, you could reduce the opacity of the windows and increase the the refraction and reflection...to kind of fudge the view of the insides so they look more vague.

The arboretum's all geometry. But I will certainly consider tweaking the glass settings.
