The FIFTH art of my FIFTH Anniversary! How fitting is that?
Anyway, I've always loved Hanzo and Sariatu's love story! I loved how it was beautifully told in the movie, as a memory that built up how four simple words changed the way Sariatu saw the mighty Hanzo. Even though they were pretty much star-crossed lovers, there's a certain long-lived depth to how love can make enemies into lovers, or how two people can love each other faithfully for so long!
I guess I should've done it in the scene where Monkey and Beetle learned the truth, but I guess I wanted a warmer moment, a scene that was in the eye of the storm. It's quiet and drives home that even without knowing they're husband and wife, Hanzo and Sariatu still love and respect one another so deeply. (And I also like how Beetle/Hanzo unknowingly promises his wife he'll protect their son).

Commentary: Again, I loved applying the yellow-blue shading on Monkey. This may not have been intentional, but I feel as though it's meant to reflect how Hanzo loves Sariatu, whether she's a warm-hearted mother and wife, or a stone-cold warrior on the battlefield.
