Ashi's words"The last thing I remember is fading away in Jack's arms. Wherever I was going, I would dearly miss the sight of him.
Now, I feel myself awakening in the arms of another. Who is this woman? Why is she bigger than me? Why do I feel so small? And weak? And fragile? Why am I gasping for air all of sudden?
Where are all my teeth?
I don't like this! Samurai? Where are you? Samurai! Samurai!

...J--Jack.
It's you. You're here, and.. you're my father. The samurai is my father. And this woman, his new bride-- no-- my new mother! I have a mother.
Samurai, I spared your life, and now you've given me a new one. In giving me a family, you and my mother have done more than I can ever repay.

You did this beautifully; and it comforts me that in this way, ashi has been given a second chance in life as the new daughter of Samurai Jack. She clearly reminds me of Hotaru (whose name means firefly in Japanese) from sailor moon. Because she too has been influenced by evil until Chibiusa (Sailor chibi moon) came along and Hotaru transformed into Sailor Saturn and was later reborn as a little baby. So really this is a very beautiful reference to Hotaru and I'm very proud you used ashi; so might I say keep up the good work and good luck to you!

Because Aku was defeated and the terrible world dictatorship never came to pass, Ashi was bound to fade out of existence eventually. I understand why they chose the moment when it would hurt Jack most to tint the happy ending with sadness. However, your ending addresses this issue with hope for the future, even if Jack and Ashi's romantic prospects are still shot either way.

This is really sweet! I'll admit that I never imagined Ashi being reborn as Jack's daughter, but I did imagine him falling in love with and eventually marrying the Cricket Girl from "Jack Remembers the Past," and if they ever had a child together, they would name their first daughter after Ashi.

I'm sure that Ashi would want Jack to eventually move on--plus, Jack had told Ashi that were a lot of girls in his time period, so Tao (or whatever her real name is) is probably still around, and I'm sure that Jack's parents would really want their son to eventually get married and have children of his own (not just to continue their royal lineage, but also because they really want grandkids).

It is implied Ashi knew that defeating Aku in the past would eventually lead to her ceasing to exist--but, like everyone else Jack helped over the years, Ashi was ultimately willing to sacrifice her life to help Jack finally defeat Aku.

after everything he'd done for them,
it would've been hard to believe not one of them wanted to owe Jack back

Personally, I thought they were all equally impressive in their own ways--although others might not agree, but I really liked the High Priestess's character (I hated the way she treated Ashi and her sisters, though). The High Priestess was easily the darkest villain on the show (at least the darkest villain after Aku, but even then Aku doesn't even seem all that dark), and I was really impressed with the darker, edgier feel of the fifth season (as well as the fact that they made a fifth season, including a real series finale for the show).

I came on board in 2010, wondering what the show was about and if it was finished
The show impressed me, but also let me down when I learned it ended without any conclusion
Imagine my surprise earlier this year when I learned of a final season ^^

I was really surprised too when I first heard that there was going to be a fifth season of Samurai Jack.

I was afraid making it "Adult Swim" would ruin the nostalgic element of "Samurai Jack",
but as time passed, I realized it gave the show the necessary ramp to reach a conclusion
