Well, I've been away for quite a while (xmas season + retail job = much overtime).This is an attempot at rekindling my creative energy, so it's much smaller than usual, done in a wallpaper resolution and pretty basic as far as the design goes.
Bryce 4, Photoshop 5 and an Intuos tablet were all used in the process.
I'm still horribly overloaded but hopefully I'll be returning to my "regular" presence and style soon.

ooh - that's just too hot! i would've just made the ball in the centre glow as brightly as molten gold. interesting use of various mediums.

Very nice indeed. Once on a forum far far away, someone had the quote "Have you ever seen fire in zero gravity" in their sig (linked to their website). I hoped that their page might have an example of that, but it didn't. This piece reminded me of that, and does look alot like fire, not controlled by gravity.
This is great work, but for me the sphere in the center seems a little too perfect and static, where the rest of the image has alot of movement. Maybe some slight radial blurring and distortion, and just somehow messing it up a bit would make it flow like the rest ? Or maybe you wanted a static center ?
Anyway this is good, and if you don't love it remember the good pieces are just as necessary to define your great ones, as the great ones are themselves.

Awesome work.. reminds me of the whole 'fire in zero gravity' thing from Event Horizon... almost like liquid. Quite a beautiful image.
