They are odd critters, had some rather amusing encounters with them, usually involving them sitting on the brim of my hat and looking down at me, or jumping onto my sunglasses and boxing the lenses and then when i take my sunglasses off they come up a bit to look at me over them. I think praying mantis are one of the goofiest creatures we have in North America.

Yes, they are very interesting in their behaviors. They are a bit like jumping spiders. This mantis is the only one i found in almost 3 years of macro photography!!
