Description
This is my interpretation of Dark Shadows' character Barnabas, played by Johnny Depp. I have a realistic style, so it may not be the most "creative" but I gave it my all.I used Pentalic* drawing pencils in BH, B, 2B, 4B, and 6B. The whole thing took about 5 days of non stop drawing.

I hope this wins. Even though it's not the most original, it is the most emotive and the most skilled piece I've come across thus far. I wish there weren't so much jpeg compression so that I could see how you made the eyes so photorealistic, but at the same time, I wouldn't want you to submit anything too high rez if you are worried about theft.

Arrrrgh, I saw that! I'm also not surprised, because my favorites within a contest tend to be overlooked.
I'm 100% certain that your case was a style issue. Let's just say they were running a contest for book illustrations for Dark Shadows. You would be far more likely to be a finalist with this drawing for a context like that, or something else other than movie poster-type deal.
