We should always be reminded that we are innately good and that we used to be children who, even unconsciously, can appreciate the simplest things.The mind is a place that springs forth wondrous and powerful things. The petty, mundane things we do supersedes our ability to create a myriad of possibilities of ourselves. Beautiful things come when we embrace what our minds can do and open up to.

This is the very first painting in the series I made for a group show in 2007. I haven't painted anything in 10 years, and this served as my big lunge into getting back to it and claiming it. I admittedly was scared of it, as I kept thinking, I probably don't know how to paint anymore, after a lot of compromises in my life. But I figured, I wouldn't know if I didn't do it.
I guess the burst of colors says a lot about the big jump. I was overwhelmed when I was creating this, and I never made any studies, which has been normal for me. I just went ahead with what I saw in my head and kept painting.
A lot of people wanted to buy this piece, I guess for the reason of it being such a landmark into getting back, I can't let it go just yet. So they ended up having to buy prints* of it.
*I really need to find a good photographer that can take photos of my paintings that'll be suitable for hi-res prints.

actually being "innately good" is proven by science. It's proven that human beings are hardwired to the brain to be genuinely good. Emotions, whatsoever, are manifestations of the brain. Anyway, t's in a NatGeo documentary. This is proven that we are, even if we weren't raised to any sort of dogma.
But yeah, there are a bunch of lowlifes out there, I agree.

And seriously, if you're going to keep name-dropping Jesus or God on something petty like this, it doesn't make sense, because you already kept a close-mind and have made up your thoughts about it. That's called being condescending.

I actually had an art teacher in high school (where i studied Visual Arts), and at times when students would submit some artplates, or their works, he would diss it, and then burn it and give us a failing grade.
Then guess what he'd do? He'd RIP OFF the styling, and then use it as his own. That didn't stop us tho, just cuz there's a prick who tells you that you're not good enough is no reason to keep doing it. All the best for you and your work!

I love this image. My only problem is that her left eye seems off by a few millimeter (depending on how big the picture actually is)... but that's nitpicking (i sure as heel couldn't as near a good a job, even with a study) But I like this style off painting. I haven't found a lot of painters' styles that I like. this is definitely one of them
