Professor Eobard Thawne was a genius scientist obsessed with the first Flash, Jay Garrick. After the Justice Society of America was disbanded and Garrick decided to resign, Thawne decided to replace him as a superhero and endowed himself with a connection with the Speed Force. However, during the acquisition of power, he discovers numerous visions of the future, in one of which he learns about Barry Allen, who will become the Flash and his sworn enemy. Unwilling to give way to the boy, Thawne, who took the name Reverse-Flash, tries to kill little Barry, but accidentally kills his mother, which causes the emergence of the future superhero Flash.
