Description The skyline of the city that crime built, as seen from the steps of the Adler Planetarium. Lots of detail in there; please take a moment to look at the whole thing!

Composed of 19 images taken freehand and stitched together in the GIMP.

It took about 2 hours of straight work, but I think it was worth it. I got lucky coming out of the planetarium, the clouds were just right to hide the late afternoon sun

There are, of course, automatic tools that could create the panorama, but they tend to produce either distortion (to correct the changes in perspective), or ghost overlaps (perspective artifacts, because the images aren't distorted to fit together).
