Description Well, here's my second picture of Fukada Kyoko. I did one earlier for my friend Melanie but here's one that I just did on my own terms.

This piece was done in 6B and 8B. I messed up on the eyes and the hair as usual. The shirt was a disaster. Took me one week on and off. If you haven't noticed, I used my uber bad paint skills to cover up a big crease that I made when I was erasing something. Boy do I wish I knew how to use photoshop or illustrator to fix up my art.

Her hair looks really beautiful. Lovely face and outfit as well. I like the shading in this picture as well. The pose and anatomy look gorgeous.

Hey again. o_O I'm going to start critiquing you and more people now. We're part of a workgroup, right? Time to be active! ^_^

Positives: You did a gorgeous and wonderful job on the eyes...I can see the emphasis you put on them. Her eyebrows are nicely penciled in, and her hair is wonderfully detailed. The shading is also fairly clean.

Negatives: About the shading...it would look more "real" if that's what you're going for if you made the shading on her shirt a little more smooth. Just a suggestion. Where the light falls on her shirt, it will look more smooth like the shading on her face. Now, on the hair, what you did for that was perfect. *thumbs up* Also, if you are trying for a realistically rendered and detailed pencil piece, try to leave the visible line art to a minimum.

I hope that helps, and I hope I wasn't too harsh! ^_^;

Wowzers. You have no idea how LONG i've wanted a critique like that. Really I like getting my work flamed or blasted because that's what tells me i'm doing wrong and what i'm doing right. Once I find that out, I can improve.

I think I mentioned some where in my description how i really hated drawing the shirt because, well I don't know. I just really turned me off and I didn't feel like making a new one. Anywho, I'll be sure to work on the clothes next time.

That's cool! Keep on keepin' on. I have trouble with clothes too, so don't feel bad. >_>

The subtle shading in her face is just beautiful! I see nothing wrong with the shirt, but then, it's hard to do a shirt wrong. It can look like anything and, unless the viewer has seen the photo (or the shirt), he'll never know if it's "right" or "wrong". The left eye is maybe a little off, but the right eye is fabulous! Wonderful job on that!!! Love the motion in the hair, too. ^__^

Thanks. The hair was what i was really concerned about anyways. I needed to practice the flowing light movement. I guess i'm getting there. The shirt was just random wackyness. I don't know what came over me. Ah well, what's done is done.

yah, it's funny when you think it's all good and then all those errors come up when you finally scan it

Wow, so someone else knows Kyoko Fukada hehe, saw her first in Ring 2

You improved greatly. This is best drawing I saw you do. I like the hair this time, and yes the eye on the left hand side needs a bit of fixing. But this is amazing. I Wish i could draw like this. I like the flow of the image, it is full of movement and life. Well done!!! (:

Thanks for the comments. I guess my hair has gotten alittle better, but can still be improved vastly. The eyes were the hardest part. The right side I think was done well but I had second thoughts on the left eye and it messed up. I wonder if I'll ever redo this one?

I like the eyes ... looks very real... but at the same time I think the entire paper is bit too dark ... poor scanner? or other reasons ... anyway, I am back to DA and I will upload something soon.

yeah, when i scaned it, it was grey scale instead of colour. It was way too light so I darkened it. It turned out pretty bad since it showed my finger prints. I had to use my uber bad paint skills to cover that up.

Penetrating? Haha. doesn't seem to be getting through to me. I guess the expression was alittle monotone. I wish she was smiling though. She has a nice smile.

the eyes... they are lined forward well. meaning the are very direct to the viewer. hard to explain. maybe that makes sense.
