alright, I realize this thing is reallyreallyreallyyyyyyy old and nowhere near what I do now, but judging by some of the comments it did help some people out, so I'm putting it back up. :/
NO CRITS, PLEASE. I know the outer claw should be on the inside of the paw and the rest of the anatomy is just plain out of whack, so don't bitch on it. XD You can still ask questions if anything's not clear or something, but other than that, this thing won't be updated anymore. :c

That happens to me A LOT! But turns out you cant save, let the computer sleep, and then go back to erase the lines so you have to recolor them and then erase. It gets pretty annoying after a while so I just keep the file open and don't save until im done with erasing the sketch line

That is a good tutorial! i loved the final image, seeing how easy it is encourages me to use paint a bit more.

Very nice. However, yout front paws are mixed up. The dewclaw in in the inside of the paws not the outside. it kind of messed me up. I figured you might of noticed. I love your shading job.

BRAVO!! LONG LIVE MS PAINT!!! It's my weapon of choice. Very nice tut - I like the thoughts on tapering and cleaning up the lines. I'm going to try that. I tend to be on the lazy side, but I'll work at it.

you do it carefully? afterall you do it freehand unless you want to use bezier.

-nod- I prefer freehand over the bezier, bezier's great for lineart but it makes your shading look really.. stiff o-o;

Um, I'm not really getting that? XD; You just zoom in and carefully draw the shading lines and try not to go over your lineart.. if that's what you mean cB;

you use the droper and copy the color you want to erase and right click when using the eraser ^^
