Description
I totally forgot to show you guys this picture here. It's already over a year old, I felt for drawing it right after I was playing the inofficial Metroid 2 Remake, AM2R (which is awesome, especially considering, it was fan made with a small crew). I always liked Samus' appearance on the cover of original Metroid 2, which I took for creating my own remake of the motive - quite some time before Nintendo was announcing their 3DS remake of Metroid 2 with their own remake of the motive. Background is an altered shot out of Metroid Prime 1, which is one of the best 3D games I ever experienced.
Even though I enjoy Nintendo's franchises, they lack some realistic violence - I am not talking about gore in Mario games or the like, or bloody killing in Zelda. But do you even ever see minor injuries anywhere? Thinking of the battles in the Prime series, I am presenting Samus as she'd look through a major battle. Dents in the suit, damaged systems, ripped off suit parts, cuts through the suit into her flesh etc....... Thinking of enemies like Ridley, there would regularly be even bigger damages and injuries. I could think of a truely awesome Metroid movie, which shows almost no other character than her, showing in the loneliness of space and getting done everything by herself - treating her wounds and repairing her suit, because there is nobody there to help her.
And thinking of such topics, you could easily understand why I belong to the people, who honestly dislike Other M. Don't get me wrong, the game is sweet, nice moves, nice gameplay, great visuals and render scenes - but dude, this whiney and annoying kind of Samus is not, what she is being taken for.
I am pretty much looking forward to Prime 4, but there is also some fear, that Nintendo messes it up with the weird decisions they are known for.......
This version here is a 4K one. A clean version of her without background in high resolution can be found here:
Info: if you want to save this picture on your computer, make sure to click on download, since DA always recompresses and downsizes the picture in normal view here, no matter what I do or how you click on the picture. It's always ugly recompressed there, the download version is the true and clear 4K version.

I've never really played much of the games, but did always like the Character of Samus. Good background and lighting as always.

Yes, she's awesome! But I did not create the background, it's a screenshot from the awesome Metroid Prime 1. I do highly recommend to you to play it. Visually it still looks pretty well, the gameplay is top notch and especially the atmosphere and music is one of a kind. One of my definate all time favorites.

oh wow, I didn't even realize that was a screenshot. It's been utter ages since I've played the Metroid games and I don't think I spent more then an hour with Prime (this was back when Renting a game at Blockbuster was still a thing)

Too bad, the Metroid Prime series is a masterpiece in adventure games. If you got a somewhat powerful computer, you could look for the Roms and play it in better resolution, so it feels even a little more modern. Taken the first Prime for 2003, the graphics are still enjoyable. I like to play the Prime series every 2 years through. And if they would re-sell them as Switch download, I would love to do so mobile ^___^

Great and sharp attention to detail! You portrayed her looks very much perfectly, along with the sustained damages she has there.
Never thought of that before, but since you mention it here... some kind of visual damage of her suit in the Prime series could have made the game more cooler, yeah. I'm wondering now if the developers of Prime have had this in mind but perhaps weren't able to feature such battle damages in those games? I guess we can only hope it is there in the 4th game.

Without a question, it would have been possible in the game. But it's easy to guess why they didn't do it.
1) 99.9% of the game, you only see her arm and canon, why bother to program a damage engine?
2) You would only get to see damage of her suit in cut scenes, and the game had very little of those.
I would definately like to see damages to the suit and injuries to her, but that is not the Nintendo style. If they themselfes are programming Prime 4, it's not gonna be there either, sadly. This is the kind of secondary content, that I miss in Nintendo games. They pay a lot of attention to details concerning the "mentality" of their games, but stuff that takes your experience deeper or is simply more realistic and believable, you don't find it. That is why I should start playing the really big and epic adventures and shooters you get for PC, since my system had the most powerful components to get a year ago, and it's still easily capable of playing the most modern games in highest settings. Star Wars Battlefront is supposed to be released sometimes soon, isn't it?

Hm... I honestly didn't know about the release date of Battlefront 2. But I have searched around for its release date now, and it would seem like it is available at 17th of November.
That game is looking good, but personally I have no interests of buying it.
And Yeah, I agree with your points about the visibility of her armor when you're in first person view. Besides turning into a ball for a third person view, and the few cutscenes as you say, you don't see anything else. I see that it's very much pointless include such damage feature in Prime then.

Well, if Prime 4 was even slightely getting closer to the level of cutscenes in Other M, there would be a reason to show damage - but with a more appropriate character under the damage. Modern consoles have enough power to render all cutscenes in game's graphics, which would be necessary to adjust the level of damage on the skill level of your playthrough.
Well I have heared many bad stories about the Battlefront series, but since we haven't gotten any approprate Star Wars games on Nintendo consoles since GameCube, I feel like getting me some stuff, that will also use my computer hardware. And since I am not as spoiled as many other people with modern games, I am sure I would basically enjoy it and not raging about all the stuff, like the Youtube masses do. Simply saying, I have never really played Battlefront, and I am giving it a shot. If it's truely bad, I can talk of experience. But such a blockbuster game can't be that bad, right?

Not necessarily I believe. I'd think for the most part Battlefront can be a good game. But I'm not so sure about its features to upgrade the equipment of the classes / heroes, it may or may not lead to an disadvantage for those who doesn't have any upgrades at all. Just for instance.
I'll have to wait and see what happens about the game after a while when it has been released. I may expect it to have a good launch anyhow.

Badass! I think Arkham battle damage mechanics in a Prime game would be AWESOME.

I have never played that game, but ANY battle damage mechanics would be great in Nintendo games. One of the details all of their games are lacking.

Are you making a sarcastic joke? Because this is not Zero suit Samus. It's the only currently existing version of her, that am willing to accept. I don't like the whole concept and design of Zero Suit sexy bitch, makes no sense and rips the character out of any credibility.

Oh damn it, my bad. I am so used to saying Zero Suit that I forgot about the name of her main suit. Sorry.
