Description Hey guys!

More Gemini art for you to check out today!

Instead of just jumping right into the finished cover, I thought some of you might like to check out the process behind this piece first. I will post the finished piece soon after.

Here are the steps I took:

1 - Thumbnails:

Time permiting, I like to come up with at least 3 good ideas for a cover. Once I have 3 solid ideas that I would be happy to go with, I send them off to Mr. Faerber, and he and I discuss which direction we like best. In this case we decided to go with option A. My thumbnails tend to be VERY rough and VERY quick. The idea is to get the idea down onto the paper at the speed of thought!! Don't take that too literally.

2 - Rough pencils:

At this stage I am laying it all out on the page real quick. Looking for overall composition, and making the various elements read clearly... I suppose the biggest thing to note is that Gemini was originally facing in the other direction, which to me didn't flow as well.

3 - Cleaner pencils:

Here I am getting the pencils ready to ink. Since I am inking this myself, the pencils really don't need to be very tight at all...In fact i prefer to keep them pretty loose. I re-drew Gemini at this stage. I wanted him facing towards the right, and I also wanted him to look really solid and to be a focus point. If you look up the top there you can see some of my first ideas for the WASP troops which appear in this issue, and on the cover.

4 - INKS:

I've talked about inking before...As you can see there is a lot of blacks added, and everything becomes clear and readable. Ready for colour to come in and work it's magic...

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed the step by step for this cover! If you don't own a copy of Gemini #1 yet....what are you doing???

Jon.

hahaha...easily fixed my friend!!

Tell me if you get the chance to go to your local comic shop and if they actually have any copies left...as far as I keep hearing it has actually sold-out, so it's cool if places actually order more in!

I think that's Yildiray's page. He's helped out on #14 so we could get back on schedule. Thanks, mate.
