Whasssssssssup?!An early sketch posting today. It is my younger bro's birthday today, so there is a little celebrating to do later! If anyone wishes to send him a completely random Happy Birthday wish, here is his email: keptus@hotmail.com . It is after all APRIL FOOLS DAY, and I think it would be rather funny if his inbox had a bunch of Happy Birthday messages from random folk who he has never met!! hahaha
(I'll tell you what... I will take a drawng request from the author of the most creative message he gets, and do one of these full colour marker head-shot things for ya....deal?)
Todays sketch is a collection of random warm-ups, head doodles and random fun-stuff.
The top is of course a headshot of IRON MAN. Iron man has a special place for me, as it was the first comic book title I ever decided to collect. It wasn't a heavily pondered desicion. One friend collected Spider-man and another collected X-men, so I thought Iron Man would be cool!! I really got into it. I bought back issues and everything. My favourites were the ones drawn by John Romita JR. He did a kick ass Iron man. In my opinion, no one really did a very cool version of him until Keron Grant came along... His version was truely awesome, but unfortunately many an Iron man fan hated it!! Idiots.... Thats all I can say for them! >
So anyway, my first attmept at Iron man. Based on the John Romita Jr. version.
The other most note worthy character here is Monkey Magic. A lot of Aussies and I think many people from UK really got into this show. You just gotta see it to get it and I don't know if it would have the same impact on an adult as it did when we were kids... But it was a lot of fun, and there is a soft spot for Monkey in my artistic heart! I would love to do a full blown piece with the characters from Monkey Magic one day, and I will!

i prefer to draw with computer and stuff, but some times i draw thing

kickass dude, jus, totally kickass. I like the texture of the colours on Iron Man, and ur right, Keron's version of Iron Man is the coolest I've ever seen, how anyone can hate it is beyond me man, great work!!

Well, this Magic Monk seems to be based on the Sayuki legend, about a monk who goes to India and find many companions in the way, one of them is Gokuu (no,nothing to do with dragon ball), who has a Magic Staff (I think it was called Nyaboi or something) and a Flying Cloud, the Kinto-un.He was a naughty monkey who stole those things from heavens and fought all the guardians through the way to Buda, and then was imprisioned by him.Does it have anything to do with the show?

Yeah dude... Your spot on! That is the exact legend which this story is based on. I think it is also called "the journey west" or something like that. Monkey was really cool with his magic staff, and he does fly around on a cloud.
I think capcom even did a game based on this mythology, and the character SonSon from marvel vs capcom is totally based on the tv show design

yeah bro, same here. iron man eally has a place in my heart too. he's been that kinda mysterious comic character that no one really draws. so it's good to see pictures of him on here. the monkey is pretty sweet up there too.

I've never heard of Monkey Magic beyond the Keyboardmania song, which I'd guess might be the theme song that Konami bought the rights to. However, from the song, it sounds like a version of the classic chinese tale. It's an excellent version. I really like this. Great job.

Unfortunately, the place that I got it, Bemanistyle.com, crashed and they didn't bother restoring a number of Drummania and Keyboardmania songs. Probably to save bandwidth. As for getting it to you, I could dropload the file. Since it's an .mpeg with video and it's CD quality music it's 28.6MB. I'd just need an address to send the dropload link.
