Yeah! I totally see what you see... and it makes sense when you rleate it to the spirit of humanity, the suffering , the desolation, and yet the will to hold on. I was thinking of calling this "Holding on to clouds" and it is interesting all the ideas which flow when you look at it!

Thanks for your wonderful insight and more than anything else, for being a lovely girl and a dear friend

such beautiful subdued colours, it makes me think of a huge broken mirror which people are walking through to get to another place.

I love it.
I could watch it for hours.
The circle attracts my eye and let me stop wondering about time/life, about how I see life others, what prevent me to see things as they are or how I interprate them.

red-lights In reply to cybergranny [2008-02-11 00:09:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, thank you... It's nice to be asked

When I look at this piece I got a sense of sky and water, and of clouds, of strings holding onto a force of energy, almost like an unseen element of nature. It's holding onto the clouds, but then also being given life by the sky and generating energy.

There is a real sense of motion in this painting. I have painted a lot of pieces with circles, or swirls, but this one really has a strong sense of movement compared to any other I have done. I think this is due to the work I did on the background. It really comes through very strongly for me.

And i find it interestig that i feel a lot of energy since generally colour and energy go hand in hand, and this piece is very subdued within it's ranger of colours- however there is a lot of energy in the brushstrokes and the contrast between the light and darkness. And beneath it all, is a sense of peace which might seem paradoxical, but I think there is peace to be found in pure energy. It is unobstructed, natural and free flowing energy. Very positive, and within positivity there is peace.

That's about all I see right now, but there is always more, the more you looki into a painting- it is very philosphical for me!

Thanks for wondering and taking the time!

Yes I agree there is a lot of energy with peace, I think that's why I like it so much.
I like when I feel 2 contrasted emotions.

This is one of my favorite paintings of yours (which says a lot because I really love most of your paintings).

As soon as I saw it, it conjured up the feeling that I was in the New Mexico desert where I grew up. I think it is from the stark quietness that has an immense power that is rumbling just below the surface. I'm always sucker for dripping paint too.

red-lights In reply to mudimba [2008-02-09 01:01:30 +0000 UTC]

Wow, thank you! Yes it is definately one of my faves, and i feel sorry to have sold it but it's all necessary to get ahead lol.

I am not usre what it is like in New Mexico, but I do undertand what you are describing and they are the very feelings i had about it, mixed with rain. It has a distance, a depth and a feeling that is very still.. almost like a river with the deep waters beneath.
The feeling that is.

Thanks again I truly appreciate your words...
