Description
16x20 acrylic and ink on gessobord. This piece is kind of a hybrid between my textured and smooth series. It started as an experiment creating optical textures on a smooth surface, and I then transformed the initial underpainting to something that fits into my little universe. The surface picked up some actual texture from the original applications, but was smooth enough for me to varnish, allowing the colors to really pop. I am pleased with the integration of techniques and I think I'll pursue this further.Related content

interesting diptych/contrast. I particularly like the foreign quality on the right side...clouds in space approaching a painting. Why exactly have you called it "Approach"?

It gave me the sense that the white body on the right was approaching the structure occupying the left side.

Great move putting the curvy line down the middle. Nice.
