Description This image took me a while to create. ~.~
5 or 6 so hours. @_@!

Spacecraft-Gateway designed in CAD, then doctored up in Photoshop along with the background and whatnot.

My first image with some type of machinery! Yay! Actually came out better than I expected, but not as I had envisioned.

Nonetheless, they are inter-dimensional/worm-hole/Einstein-Rosen bridge gateway devices of an obviously advanced civilization dwelling on the lower planet. Used for near-instant travel, with waypoints established around the planet. Created by near-lightspeed revolution (note the triple engine system) and high powered blue photonic lasers. The lens flare is bent due to the space-time distortion caused by the gate. /sci-fi talk.

I need to get 3DS Max.
Practicing on creating spaceships.

Wouldn't something spinning at such high speeds create a gravity well? Well I suppose that would actually help. A pilot could just steer as the gravity tugged him toward the centroid.

I also like the three engine system. Three always works for anything physics related.

What happens if you go in the wrong side? /Is/ there a wrong side? Does it work from both spacial directions or does it follow the GIGO concept?

Haha, thank you for your input, I am glad you had such an insightful though on my piece!

I would theorize that there would be no "wrong" side to enter as the "door" would be a 2-way 2-D circular plane with certain radius entering in the 4-D while simultaneously exiting the 4-D at a different location via another "door," albeit how to connect those two... who knows. =/

As the GIGO concept, it would seem kinda pointless traveling in and arriving at the same location you just came from, unless time had some kind of factor in it.
But... who knows. =S

... This is very intriguing. What brought this up was the thought of a ship entering at the same time as one leaving, from the same 'entrance'. I imagined, when looking at it from the side, that a ship would enter from the planed left, appearing at another gate, and arriving ships coming out the planed right.

Ooh, I love how you added the craft!

This is amazing, especially since it was your first including something like this!

Haha, thank you!!
I thought it wouldn't turn out that great, but in the end I liked it a lot.
