Description
Almost 2 years ago, the Wonder Woman, while aiding in repelling an alien invasion which led to the formation of her superhero team The Justice League, felt a sharp, mysterious pain that almost cost her life and mission. A few weeks after, after defeating a black-market medical tech merchant named Circe, she learned that the pain was because she's pregnant with twins. Between then and that fateful day, Diana Trevor, true identity of Wonder Woman, left the JL temporarily and married her long-time sweetheart and father of the twins, Col. Steve Trevor. Also, Diana's mother Pauline Erics-Creon moved in with them at their home in Athens, Greeceto help take care of Diana's soon-to-be-born twins. On September 10th, 2015, Michael and Louise Trevor were born. One night, the baby monitor picked up one of the twins crying, and Steve went to be with his child, letting his wife sleep. A few minutes later, the sounds of a fight was picked up on the same monitor, and Diana Trevor took up the charge to find her family. Across the hall from the twins' room, Diana's mom was unconscious from a tranquilizer round in her neck, and Steve was also knocked out, his head bashed in with a lamp. Diana jumped out the window after the kidnapper, who was wearing battle armor, a white mask, a cowboy hat, and a glowing-red eyepiece. He placed the babies into his car and fired at the mother with a gun on his gauntlet; Diana countered by picking up some brush from her backyard and swiping to disorient his ability to aim. The assailant got in the car and drove off, but Diana was able to keep up with the speeding vehicle on foot! She jumped onto the back and crawled along the roof until she reached the window, allowing her to punch the kidnapper right in his eyepiece. He tried to swerve to throw her off. He thought he did, but she was actually on the underside and she crushed the rear-wheel drive axel with her bare hands. The car skidded to a halt and threw the kidnapper, seatbelt and all, out the front windshield. He disappeared into the city. Diana grabbed her kids, who were still alive, and ran for the nearest hospital to find help. At the hospital, the doctor confirmed that the children weren't harmed in the car. While a nurse took the twins for further examinations, Diana's husband and mother joined her. An African-American doctor joined them to examine Steve and Pauline... but he has a fresh black eye where Diana punched the kidnapper! Diana took him and shook him down in the office where the nurse was with the twins, and she demanded to know why he tried to kidnap them. His response was, "we were only doing what we were paid to do." That's when the nurse took a gun and shot Diana in the ribs to let go of the impostor doctor, and then twice in the head to finish her! The kidnappers disappeared with Diana's children. When she came to, she was completely healed due to her meta-genetic abilities, and the police began helping her identify the fake doctor. He was identified as Floyd Lawton, an ex-American military sniper who went by the "charming" codename "Deadshot." He had disappeared after joining CADMUS, but no-one can reason why he would reappear years later just to kidnap a former music star's children. Diana intends to find out...
Wonder Woman stalked the night-drowned streets of Athens until she found the woman who helped Deadshot in the abduction. The woman, Michelle Torres, spilled the beans that the person who hired them was none other than Circe, who wants to study the children for their potential to carry the same genetic deviation that Diana carries. One that Circe's illegal medical research can greatly benefit from. Wonder Woman tracks Torres' cell phone to find the trailer truck that Circe's gang is using as a mobile base of operations. She attacks the disused wharf patrolled by Circe's animal-masked thugs and finds Deadshot. Floyd was keeled over with a massive headache, mumbling about mixed up memories and things he shouldn't remember, such as "Checkmate", "Albion" and "Lancelot". But then he quickly stood up and shot at Wonder Woman! They battled and WW stood on top, victorious. She then ripped the side off the truck entirely to get to Circe. The mad scientist was at a giant computer monitor with the two babies... with a DNA result saying %100 Identical.
"They aren't your children... they're your clones. What even are you?"
Diana then grabbed her by the leg and punched her lights out.
Circe and her gang were arrested, including Torres, but Deadshot vanished. After some time of grappling with
her children being her perfect clones, as though she asexually concieved them, she realized she may have to return to the medical facility in the Ulang Archepelego she spent most of her life in to find the truth.
Notes:
* The twins' names, Michael and Louise, are a reference to the actors who voiced their namesake, the "Wonder Twins."
** Spetember 10th is the date of the Wonder Twins' first appearance in the Superfriends TV series.
* Deadshot being African-American as a reference to him being played by Will Smith in the Suicide Squad movie.
* Deadshot was originally Lancelot, a member of the US government's Albion Unit, who was brainwashed into the perfect killer using the Checkmate Procedure. He fought Oliver Queen, another former Albion operative, and was electrocuted by him, which scrambled his brain.
* There are also files next to the computer about a completed procedure, paid for by "Oswald Cobblepot" and performed on "Tracey Buxton"...

Nice touch naming the twins after their VA's. I've met one of them, the great Michael Bell--nice guy in-person. Had him sign an extra GI Joe Duke filecard (the third, after my Larry Hama-signed Snake Eyes and my Rob Paulsen-signed Tripwire).
Who's Michelle Torres supposed to be?

In the original comics, Floyd's baby mama.

Oh.
Oh yeah, my question in your Absolute Disruption entry--the assassination that Amazing Man prevents, was it the same one that actually killed MLK in real life?

Yes.
That's not offensive, is it? I mean, I did start this entire series with Superman preventing 9-11...

I don't think it's ever offensive to imagine the aversion of senseless tragedies...it does not diminish their loss to dream it never happened.

Hippolyta "Lyta" Trevor was from Pre-Crisis Earth-2, the daughter of Golden Age Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor. As an adult, she would become the heroine Fury and marry Hector Hall, the Golden Age Sandman (And son of Golden Age Hawkman and Hawkgirl). Post-Crisis, Lyta's parentage would be retconned and her child with Hector, Daniel, would become the new Dream of the Endless, after the death of the original Dream by...the furies (Get it? )
Also, in the Wold Newton Universe, Lyta is also the child of Diana and Steve, but she later becomes the second Wonder Woman, and even later retires and becomes director of CIALD, this world's stand-in for SHIELD. Lyta would marry Arnold "Iron" Munroe, the illegitimate first child of Superman, and together they would have a daughter, Antiope "Annie" Munroe, the third Wonder Woman.

I like a lot how Deadshot looks like a blend from his first appearance in 1950 and his upcoming portrayal by Will Smith in the Suicide Squad movie.

I also see a bit of his look from the "Batman: Gotham Knight" animated movie.

A good character who needed to be in his actual costume and get a good villain role beyond "faceless mook for the govt."
