Description

In the last issue of Absolute DC, Amanda Waller, former government official and agent of the Cult of Algol, was murdered in her safe house by an unknown assassin. The hero called Green Arrow, who was interrogating Waller, was attacked by the assassin and left in a coma. The Justice League investigated, and found nothing but evidence of Cassandra Kane, the Batman’s own cousin and former crime-fighting partner called The Robin, being the assassin. With half of the heroes thinking she’s innocent and the other half thinking she’s guilty, Batman, who was betrayed by Cassandra some time ago, went out to find her and bring her to justice. Superman tried to talk him down, but Batman’s gloved fist, generating red sun energy, which can weaken Supes, socked him right in the face…

When Batman punched Superman, a literal fight broke out in the meeting room of the Watchtower satellite, the HQ of the Justice League, between the two sides of the argument. Batman and Superman went blow-for-blow, with the former using devices that spray Krypton gas and generate red sunlight, both weaknesses of Superman, to evenly fight him. Batman stated that he knew they would try to stop him, so he came prepared. The heroes who agree with Batman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Booster Gold, also started fighting the others who agree with Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Blue Beetle. Black Canary, a hero affiliated with the comatose Green Arrow, was on board the Watchtower visiting him in the medical wing, saw this and got into the fight, battling WW. Red Tornado, another solo hero who came with Canary to the satellite, sided with Superman. Superman’s team also tried to focus on Batman, but Batman, being prepared to fight his fellow heroes who disagreed with him, managed to counter them as well. His cape repelled Wonder Woman’s and Blue Beetle’s weaponry; he has cryo-bombs to slow down The Flash; and his magnetic boots allowed him to stand against Red Tornado’s wind powers.

At the end of this fight, Batman and his side retreated and made their way to the teleportation bay. Flash tried to intercept them, but Batman’s cryo-bombs, combined with Aquaman’s water powers, froze the speedster quickly. Batman’s side escaped, and a bomb he placed on the controls detonated and disabled them so the others can’t easily follow.

When they got back to Earth, Batman, Black Canary, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Booster Gold reconvened at a secondary Batcave that he had set up some time ago, knowing that Superman’s side would investigate the primary Batcave first (they don’t know about this second one). The team reviewed all of their evidence of Waller’s murder and found that Cassandra, under an alias, flew out of the country from the Denver International Airport. Aboard the Watchtower, Superman’s team also looked at their evidence and came to the same conclusion. Both teams boarding their respective Javelin ships from where they each are and raced to where Cassandra had landed… London, England.

Oh, great, now they've spread to DC...

I hate civil wars. They're so...unproductive.
