Description

Superman had called a meeting at the Watchtower satellite, headquarters of The Justice League, to relay what he had learned somewhat recently. Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Booster Gold & Skeets, and Blue Beetle each teleported or flew into the satellite to begin their meeting. Booster Gold held Blue Beetle, his best friend, back for a second to let him know that he has something important to tell him, in private, after the meeting. At the meeting, Superman let his fellow heroes know that Lionel Luthor, Superman’s archenemy and evil genius, had recently escaped prison through unknown means. Now, Luthor is putting a team of supervillains together for some nefarious purpose. Furthermore, Luthor had been secretly manipulating a team of heroes, The Doom Patrol, into killing villains who refused to work with Luthor; when the Doom Patrol learned they were being manipulated, they rebelled against Luthor’s partner, Dr. Caulder, and were almost killed by The Brotherhood, who intended to replace the DP as Luthor’s assassins. The Doom Patrol then relayed this info to Superman, and thus this meeting of the JL was called. They need to find some way of finding Luthor and his supervillain team…
However, this discussion was tabled when the Watchtower’s proximity alarm was tripped! They saw five humanoid figures flying through the earth’s atmosphere towards the satellite. The beings then smashed their way through the transparent-aluminium windows! As the blast shields lowered to prevent implosive decompression, the five featureless humanoid androids, dark green in color, morphed themselves to resemble half-and-half amalgamations of the JL members, two a piece. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman recognized the androids as the same kind as “Trinity”, an android that they fought some time ago. The androids introduced themselves as “Composites” and stated their primary directive: KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE.
Using the combined skills, powers, and weapons of each hero they resembled, the Composites battled the JL. As this battle progressed, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, fighting their Composite conterpart, had a hectic version of the conversation they intended to have later.
Booster Gold: “Hey Ted?! Remember Veronica?! The woman I dated, about a month back?!”
Blue Beetle: “Now is NOT the friggin’ time, Mike! What’s the short version?!”
Booster Gold: “If I don’t make it out of this, and you do… could you be the godfather?!”
Blue Beetle: “Godfather to who- … OHHHHH.”
Booster Gold: “…Yeah.”
Just when Booster/Beetle Composite was about to snap Booster Gold’s neck, he used his time-travel tech, which the Composite DIDN’T have, to warp himself and the android 5 minutes into the future, when the other four Composites were finally destroyed by the JL. The heroes then quickly rushed and ganged up on the last Composite, saving Booster and destroying the android. With the head of the destroyed Super/Bat Composite cleanly cut off using Superman’s heat vision, they recovered its positronic brain and accessed its data. They learned of the calculated flight path and pinpointed the launch site: Northern New York state, in a forest somewhere there.
The JL’s Javelin spaceship touched down at the edge of a clearing in the New York forest, detecting a massive cloaked structure in the middle. The structure, a gigantic dome, undid its cloaking field and opened its front doors. The Justice League entered the darkened facility and found a podium, bathed in a spotlight, with a cloaked figure standing at it.
Superman: “It’s over, whatever you’re planning. And you’re going back to prison, Lionel.”
???: “No, he isn’t.”
The figure then pulled off the entirety of his cloak, revealing himself to be not Lionel Luthor…
but his son…
Lex Luthor.
Astonished, Superman asked why and how he’s doing this!
Lex: “A tale for later… but first, let me introduce you to… The Doomed.”
