Description
Last time with Tommy “Kamandi” Blank, a young survivor from the 24th Century of Earth, he and his allies Saphira Cohen and Prince Tuftan had escaped Sky City and the Biomechs that control it and returned to Earth’s surface. Tuftan, a humanoid mutant tiger, brought Kamandi and Saphira to the Tiger Kingdom, which is ruled by Tuftan’s father King Ceasar the Great. Though most animaloids of this post-apocalyptic world despise humans, Ceasar, a tough but fair leader, decided to give amnesty to Kamandi and Saphira for returning his son to him, after Tuftan had been captured by the Cult of the Condiment King. As the Tiger Kingdom bolstered their defenses in preparation of the possibility of the Biomechs, led by Ben Boxer, coming to their kingdom to exterminate them, Kamandi and Saphira did what they could to help until they spied a human in a somewhat clean uniform, resembling the uniform of a Bunker dweller that Kamandi once wore, spying on the Tigers. The Tigers spotted him and managed to capture him, but Kamandi, with Tuftan’s backing, got them to not harm the human spy. The spy learns that Kamandi was from the Command D Bunker, one of the bunkers that old humanity built in preparation for the Great Disaster, but that Bunker was destroyed. The spy agrees to take Kamandi and Saphira to the Command F Bunker, where he resides. The human spy is released, and he leads Tommy and Saphira to Command F. At the Command F Bunker, Saphira was surprised to see a small city’s worth of humans thriving beneath the wastes of what used to be America and the red sun that scorches it. They have food, proper clothing, education, medicine, defenses, and all the comforts of home. Tommy and Saphira were then introduced to the overseer of the bunker, Sleeper Zom. Zom offered Tommy and Saphira a place among them, and Saphira was the first to accept the offer. While Saphira was in the library of the bunker, amazed at all the surviving books, Zom spoke with Tommy. He wanted to know everything Tommy knows about the nearby Tiger Kingdom. When asked why, Zom told Tommy that the people of Command F cannot sustain their repopulation efforts and needs to leave the Bunker safely. To that end, they need to be safe from the nearby Tiger Kingdom. Tommy said he could speak with King Ceasar and his son Prince Tuftan about brokering peace between the humans of the Bunker and the Tigers. But Zom has other ideas… He had his guards seize Tommy and forcefully hook him up to the MOTHER computer system. This MOTHER system, which was isolated from the MOTHER system that raised the orphaned Tommy in the Command D bunker, tortured him and forced him to spill his guts about the Tiger Kingdom’s defenses that he knew. Once Zom was satisfied with what he learned, he had Tommy and Saphira locked in the prison on the bottom-most floor of the Command F bunker. However, the Bunker dweller who was spying on the Tiger Kingdom initially, the one who led Tommy and Saphira to Command F, broke them out of the prison. He begged forgiveness for what happened, saying he was told by Zom that they were simply making sure their defenses were right, not that the Command F Bunker was going to war! After forgiving the spy for what happened, Kamandi and Saphira got to the topside of the Command F bunker to see that their soldiers have already moved out, and that Sleeper Zom is with them. Back at the Tiger Kingdom, the Tiger People were surprised and overwhelmed by Zom’s forces. Kamandi and Saphira arrived to rescue Tuftan and his father Caesar from some of Zom’s soldiers. Caesar yelled at Kamandi for leading the bunker humans to war against them, but Kamandi had no time to argue that he’s not responsible. If he’s learned anything from his time in the wastes, fighting against animaloid brigands, is that if you take out their alpha, the rest will follow. As Tuftan, Ceasar, and Saphira were assisting in sheltering the weaker tiger citizens from Zom’s soldiers, Kamandi drew his sword and fought through the Command F soldiers to get to Zom. Sleeper Zom and Kamandi battled, and the fight ended with Kamandi slicing off both of Zom’s legs in one swipe, both his real one and his prosthetic one. The human forces learned soon enough of their leader’s defeat and stood down. Kamandi took command of the human soldiers and ordered them to return to the bunker to never return, and they took the still alive Sleeper Zom with them. In the end, Ceasar allowed Kamandi and Saphira to stay with the Tigers, apologizing for thinking Kamandi led Zom to them. However, a new guest soon graced Ceasar’s presence, a dog-humanoid scientist named Canus, and he bears grave news…Related content
