I'd recomend you use those wide, transparent scotch tape instead of the varnish...you'll get that 'laminated look'...and it would be shinier ;D

though SOMETIMES the tape does ruin alcohol-based inks when the sticker gets older so you be careful of that ^^

I agree. Using some kind of wide tape works well for things like this (though I've used it more for protecting bookmarks and stuff than for stickers).
