I'd have to agree with this guy. Hiding spam or hate comments is one thing (and I'm sure you've had to deal with that plenty of times), but there's no reason to hide comments that are just explaining the joke for the people who don't quite get it. Even if that DOES ruin the joke...

I vehemently disagree with dA's system where the owner can censor comments. Comments that violate rules can be dealt with in many better ways.

Allow me to rephrase, you said "People keep ruining it by giving the answer", as a justification for hiding comments. It isn't a valid justification for censoring comments. If people want to read the comments and spoil the joke, that's their business. Fun should be optional.
