how could anyone hate fluttersh? how can they hate anyone in the show...... that is one of the show's strengths. even if you don't like a character, you dont' hate them either normally. such as while i like applebloom and sweetiebell, i do not have the same affection for scootaloo.

My head canon is Gilda was pretty much just like Fluttershy, but she learned from Rainbow Dash how to be confident, proud etc. But she took it too far and without level headed friends to keep her grounded, she turned into the Gilda we know; but deep down she is still just as fragile and insecure as Fluttershy; what we see is just a shield she puts up to protect herself.
Rainbow Dash is friends with Flutters 'cause she reminds her of the Gilda she used to know.
