Description an allegorical self portrait.

I watch my own performance, as a casualty of Victorian English morality.
left to right: Miss Reserved; Miss Manners; Miss Virginity; Miss Prim.

note: Miss Prim's alter ego often causes a shift in her personality and she feels compelled to lift her dress and show off her ankles.

performer: Miss Desperate. Feels exposed, loss of control, needs support, but instead receives criticism and self-judgement from all the voices in her head.

I think that the words "self-portrait" gives to the image a very special feeling that it wouldn't have if that words would have never been write.
The head less doll gives a particoular mood to the image ( the same creepy feelings) I think that dolls gives to ur works a little bit of dark and gothic mood without black atmospheres.
Then the fact that miss desperate recives only criticism and self-judgement doesn't mean that u r reciving this!
I think u are one of the best photographers in this community so I hope that u will never stop post images.

yeah - doll art!

love the way you've expressed your ideas perfectly here. have no idea what lobster claws is talking about it so I'll pretend I didn't read his comment.

this makes me rethink the way I used to play with my dolls as a child. all the ways i would express myself in silence. wonderful photo!

must also add that since I'm in the process of moving I am finally going through my childhood storage boxes which have gone untouched since my mother's death. she kept my dolls for me! I am forver grateful to her ghost. now to get out my camera . . .

either my brain was 2 dead the last time i looked @ this pic or i jsut toally missed this part of the description
'an allegorical self portrait.'

the picture just creates so much more meaning.
I can honestly say that everyone has acted as these various parts. the diffrent symbolism for each emotion or state of mind, has been nicely created through the different costume use.
miss performer getting lost in "criticism and self-judgement " even if it is imaginary it seem's to have great effect on her.
A subtle aspect not even sure if it was ment. but the diffrent hair colours are in itself a great symbolic tool of diffrent personalities. a radical change in your hair colour or style is considered a form of self mutilation, perhaps each personality here is a destructive force on the others.
the whiteout background light is good, the screen creatign the subtle shiloets is rather nifty.

mabey im reading more into all these pictures, but i do like the symbolism you are creating in your new style of art great work.

lobsterclaws needs to photo-edit some "truth in art" into his brain. So a lie is more powerful than the truth. The truth showing the fragility, the need for support and the lack of strength. "performer: Miss Desperate. Feels exposed, loss of control, [[[needs support]]], but instead receives criticism and self-judgment from all the voices in her head."
I do wish people actually read descriptions before throwing up their thoughts. I do wish people would stop condemning honesty or preferring the lie, just because it would look better and be "more powerful". I do wish children learnt to walk before they started running, I do wish artists learnt the language of art before they started talking it. Talking a false language, only encouraging lies, only being absorbed by lies. Not being capable of understanding or recognising truth. What is art? they cry, not knowing the question was answered 50 years ago. Oh! but how do you expect them to look back before their time and LEARN. No they've got to build upon a language of bullshit to make themselves feel real and to throw bullshit at those who speak art.
The picture illustrates all that I've said, and the comments reflect that, exposing the false face we hide behind and convey our versions of the truth, taught to us by a society of liars and bullshiters.
Making us all performers "Feels exposed, loss of control, needs support, but instead receives criticism and self-judgment from all the voices in her head."
only the watchers sitting in their self-righteous seats, look down and throw judgment without, knowing, without attempting to understand.
Strange how people with flashy new computer programs consider themselves artists, teaching people with years of experience how to do things, there are times with it's refreshing, there are times when it's comical, and then it isn't funny anymore. It's a shame that not many people seem to know what the f'k they're talking about, or even look at.

If you could photo edit and take out the doll stand it would be a more powerful image.
