Yesterday I have been to an Art College to check out about Game Art. (What I want to do next year.) I had showed them my portfolio and got some feedback on it. One of these feedbacks was to make :
- more background illustrations.
- Less animals
- more human gestures/drawings/portrait work
- Creature Designs
And I agree with them! But I want to work more traditional as well.
The most laughable thing was that they called my animal anatomy studies "furries".......... stereotypes.

well Game Art does not ivolve the coding though x3 just the creative side!
and animal games are indeed rarely focus on. Feral Heart is one, but I dont concider that a real good game...

Its cool game, definately. But the gameplay is boring as hell and its crowded with children and roleplayers its not even fun anymore . It lacks extra servers, the maps lag as crazy because of ammount of players . I rather call it a virtual chat rather than a real game.

Mhm, it is. Exactly where i was going with the children part D| As for the other stuff you mention is true too T_T Which is why I deleted the game from my desktop long time ago. HAHA! best virtual chat i have ever seen x'D no kidding, i guess it's only truly fun when you first play it. Only a matter of time when someone see's what's wrong with it and move on *sigh* first memories of playing that game are always treasured

HAHAHAHAHAA! Ahhhh that is too good x'D During my first year of uni everyone thought i was a furry for my animal characters i had in my sketchbook. So i started drawing PG furries for a day and told them i was just to make them uncombfy

LOL. I had some OC characters in my sketchbook, but there is so much of anatomical studies and gestures it would just be weird. but they made a point of too many animals. so I take that as the positive side of the feedback XD

It's just funny that they called your zebras like that, haha. It's a pity you didn't have any whale so they could name it furry. 8D

Wow, animal anatomy studies are really common, even artists who may detest "furries" will do animal anatomy studies for practice. I'm almost surprised that a professional art college would think of you as a "furries" artist simply 'cause you draw a lot of animals and do animal anatomy studies(which all serious artists should practice anyway.)

yep I detest furries. so it was kinda an insult/slap into my face after hard work to understand animal anatomy.

jah dat zeiden ze -.- en dat was op HKU.... bedoel als ik nou naar wetenschappelijke illustratie zou gaan (kan niet want het is master niveau) zouden ze het meer wetenschappelijk zien. Het is hetzelfde als je realistische mensen tekent en ze noemen het manga XD...
