Ugh. Used to have to help my stepdad butcher deer. I don't think he did it right because it always tasted horribly gamy, to the point where I can't stand deer meat to this day.

I've shot deer! It's great. And I've seen a hunter pull out a deer's heart and take a big bite out of it. He said it was good...

Actually I think this piece is good enough to print and sell on the web. I think it could fetch a fair price for you. You might want to look into that. Oh heck, I see you've already done that disregard.

So tell us a little more about the work, How long do you recon you worked on it? What version of Photoshop you used? Did you use blending modes if so which ones? Did you make your own custom brushes, masks and so on. It's really a beautiful work of art and labour no doubt about it; your color pallet is something else you might write something about. by explaining these processes a little would perhaps give some of us the benefit of understand YOU the artist better. Thanks for sharing it with us. I love infographic charts.

Organ meat is good. The most nutritious parts are the heart, lungs and liver. You can use the intestines for the sausages. Tongue is also delicious. I find most game meat to be lean with little fat and that is what gives meat its flavor. I sometimes add beef fat for extra flavoring, but some game meat enthusiasts might consider that sacrilegious. Oh well, to each their own.

I though the roast and stew meat parts were opposite. I though the roast came from the shoulders and the stew meat came from the haunch. Now I know! Then again, I never did ask my friend what each part was used for. This helps a lot!! Now I will know what she is talking about when she goes hunting.

Actually any meat part can be used for stew. Shoulders could be maybe used for roasts too. Each hunter processes their meat differently. But mostly its left over meat from processing that's being used for stew (what ive seen from videos). Sausages/grounded meat too.

Pretty nice! The colors bend well making it really realistic!
Now I am kinda hungry.... how does Deer tastes like? I never ate one before! Osso Buco seems quite tasty to me..... OMG STAPH NARA, STAPH.
Ribs look like big meaty lollipops 8D . DAMN NARATZU STAPH.
Now, in serious stuff, I do not like hunting, but I do respect people who do it to eat it, no just for plain fun or saying "Oh hello, I killed a lion, look how pretty it is" but I think I hear before that in some places, there's overpopulation of Deer, so hunting them in determinate months of the year would help the ecosystem.

Thank you! Deer meat tastes similar to beef but a bit different. Bit on the sweeter side and lean (little fat).

Love it! I wanted to point out that his shoulder seems represented twice-- in the fully rendered head/neck and the muscle view, so it's not totally continuous. But, that's just me being particular. Still super cool

It is done on purpose because the skin for the trophy mount is skinned starting at the shoulders/chest till the neck, then it gets cut off at the neck. then the head gets sent to a taxidermist to do the rest of the job. So the shoulder meat is still kept for consuming. So thats why its kept separate because a trophy mount is an object and not consumable food.

Very well done (colours really make it so realistic!) ,
art and science together!
Anyways , it's thanks to hunting that we humans survived u.u it has always been part of the great circle of life "food chain" system , and it's more healthy than that supermarket meat , red like tomatoes...god knows what chemical things there are inside -.-
My father's best friend has a licence for quail hunting , for example ; sometimes I went with them bringing my little Cocker Spaniel to train him in pointing the preys , and eating what you hunted has...a different , healthy taste!
As far as I know , in Italy it takes an infinite bureaucratic process and must also pass theoretical examinations to practice hunting , of course NOT for sport purposes , and I think is a good thing , after all

Glad to see that most of the deer is used! I'm not a hunter myself. I disapprove of trophy-hunting as a "sport", but I do not mind hunting if the animal is put down as humanely as possible and not left to waste.

I understand. With trophy hunting I have split feelings. I am on one side okay cause most of the time the trophy animal will be eaten. Depending on species of course. But I disapprove of the attitude and behaviour of these hunters because they see it as entertainment. It as well stimulates canned hunting in exotic and endangered species such as lions, elephants, rhinos etc. which disgusts me.
However, sometimes a food hunter gets to catch a pretty animal for example a nice antlered deer. Some see it as an achievement and want to preserve it in the form of a trophy head. Think it as a memento. After having processed the meat they bring the head to an taxidermist to get it made into a trophy mount. I think thats actually fine. So thats why I have included trophy mounts in this chart

It makes me happy to see all of the support for hunting in the comments. I hate it when website persecute hunters and call them cruel when they eat meat from animals that have been so genetically modified that they can't even stand up ( they wouldn't have room to in factory farms anyway). It's an amazing work of art. I personally enjoy what my mom does with our venison my dad hunts (white-tailed deer). She tenderizes the steak, marinates it in yellow mustard, rolls it in flour and fries it. It is amazing!

I think it is because this chart is teaching people about traditionally, wild caught food and that nothing goes to waste(depending on the hunter). I think a lot of people are just fine about that. Even some vegetarians/vegans i have talked with.
And even if there are people dissagreeing, i can respect that because people have different views/opinions. As long they aren't rude or make a drama out of it.
I am no hunter (would love to be some day) but I do sometimes buy wild game meat from a poultrerer. I already have tasted Red Deer and Roe deer. Roe deer venison is my favorite!

This is really neat :3 May I ask a question? Are you against family raised meat such as cows/pigs? My family has raised their own meat for a long time now and the animals have always been treated like kings I'm just curious ^^

I do support those farms who do good. Sadly they are unheard of where I live and getting meat is only possible from a butcher or supermarket. I am only against the food industry farms.
