Description Okay, I cannot hold it any longer...  I am way too tired after (another) overnight working to wait the appropriate time with the posting.

SO.
THIS.  IS.  MY.  MASTERPIECE.
And, more importantly my boyfriend's Christmas present (which he is going to receive 3 days late).  Not because he was such a Toothless fan (he does like the character very much, tho) - but because for Christmas he deserves no less than the VERY BEST of me.

Totally own pattern, I pretty much made it up as I went along.

used ~Strecno 's picture> strecno.deviantart.com/art/Too… as a reference for the pose, as ou can probably tell
cca. 30 metres of wire and a whole lot more string.
3"x 2"x 3" in this position
0.2 lbs - although he feels a whole lot heavier.
(actually he has one wing-finger less then he should, but his wings were already too big and he was getting clumsy as hell)

Thanks!
Making included 20 meters of wire, 30 meters of string and 200 hours of pure patience  Well, roughly.
I can explain the method in details but if you haven't done beadworks before you won't really understand it :/

As for having it... it was meant to be a special thing.
I have told this to some other people before, I might hold an auction if more of you would be willing to bid for it.  I'd still likely only make one more though.

Such an amazing beadwork, oh my god

Thank you very much!
I stopped counting after 50 work hours, but I approximate it's about the double of it.  I started it late september and finished it late november, so two months in total, but there were several consecutive days when I didn't even touch it.

This is amazing! WOW I can't tell how i like it) I have only one question. Can you tell me how you did it? I really want to do Toothless too. But i don't now how. You would help me a lot. If it  won't be difficult for you.
(I hope that everything in my comment is right, because I'm only learning English)

RedCyclon In reply to SeaAnnya [2014-09-13 23:04:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot!  I'm glad you like it.

Honestly, is you've never worked with beads before I wouldn't recommend trying to do this first...  Even if you do have some experience with beads I can't really explain it here - it kinda difficult, and a lot of what I could say would be rather useless.
However I have the photos of the process here: s454.photobucket.com/user/sail…
I hope it helps although I know getting the exact number of beads can be tiresome and tricky...

(you're English was all right - not perfect but I got what you meant, don't worry.  and keep learning ^^)

I would pay for one of these, no question. It's beautiful! Will you make any more? (I read the previous comments)

RedCyclon In reply to drakuldragon [2014-09-06 02:03:42 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
I'm pleased to hear - still, the question is not in your willingness to pay, but rather in the amount.
I'll stop beating about the bush: an auction would start from the minimum of 100 USD, while the auto-buy price (so this case in this case in particular) I'd say 200.  I know it sounds much but I literally have five whole days of my life in it.  aaaand there's the possibility of the patterns being traced.

If you think it's too much, I can totally understand that.  If you're still interested, just let me know.

Wow, this is just amazing! It's the best Toothless made out oft beads I've seen so far and I guess I have seen quite a lot

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedCyclon In reply to BlackTriEdge [2014-07-30 22:29:21 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, that depends on how much you're willing to pay.
At the moment this specific piece is in the possession of my ex.  I can trace the patterns however, so it depends.

This is the holy grail of my Toothless obsession. I want to make this so badly. I made an account so I could tell you how much I freaking love this. Like you have no idea. I have a major problem yes I know. But this is absolutely amazing.

RedCyclon In reply to OneGeekyDragonGirl [2014-02-13 15:53:02 +0000 UTC]

Oh woooow!  I can't put into words how honoured I feel right now!  I mean... nobody has ever did such a thing like creating an acc just to tell me something.
THANK YOU!
I do plan to upload the WIP pictures, and they have been asked for already - I'm just a lil' busy that's all, maybe I'll just trash the up to my photobucket or whatnot... - I can't promise you will be able to make it with those, since not everything important is visible...

(and we all have problems, dun' worry.  if you ask me, you're perfectly okay ^^)

Oh thank you for the mention I fell much honored. It’s great that my sculpture inspired you to such an amazing thing. It is a masterpiece indeed! I have no idea how someone can make something like that of beads. I wonder if it’s hollow inside.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedCyclon In reply to Strecno [2014-01-03 00:20:37 +0000 UTC]

You are welcome!
Actually, it was pretty much the same with me looking at your sculpt - I mean how can someone make such thing out of wire and clay?  (it was clay, right?)  It's so preciseeee...
And yes, it is hollow inside - thank goodness :"D

What size beads did you use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedCyclon In reply to SpyerSecol [2013-12-30 19:03:59 +0000 UTC]

Well, not sure what is the official metric thing, but they are 1 mm in radius (or the size of the hole), 2 mm in total.

(but if you're curious about the size, tha other picture ((fav.me/d6zkutv)) shows that better)

I'm always happy to see complex creatures made with this technique

And I like his expression (those eyes <3 )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedCyclon In reply to Rrkra [2014-01-01 21:36:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, the expression I'm especially proud of (didn't got the shape of the eyes exactly how I wanted to - next one will be better, I guess)

As for techniques, I see you're actually doing it a lot differently than I do and I must admit I've never thought about making something that way ... maybe I should try it

Rrkra In reply to RedCyclon [2014-01-02 08:04:46 +0000 UTC]

There's always room for improvement ^^

I use wire as additional/internal support, but only because I enjoy working with thread more. The more different ways to make beadworks, the better
