This is my gas blowback Beretta compared to my last upload which was the spring model. Heres a pic from the other side: [link] It would almost be finished if the paint wasnt an issue. It looks perfectly fine in shots and videos but when you actually see it in person its messy and sticky to hold it and has crap stuck on it. I've taken the paint off multiple times and resprayed but everytime it comes out messy. The gun was clear due to UK gun laws as i dont have a license i can only get coloured or clear airsoft guns. This is just to show how its looking at the moment but im going to have to buy the proper chrome Tokyo Marui model so the frame wont be painted. As i dont have a license it will need to be painted but i have asked them about it and all they paint is the slide which i dont need anyway. Its expensive but i'll have to if i want it to be right. All thats missing is the laser, which Madam Wesker has at the moment. I got one as close looking to the RE5 one as i could find. I also have a rail which i hadnt added for this pic but i fitted on last night and took this pic: [link] Havent sprayed it chrome yet but might leave it black, depends how the laser looks on it. If it fits that is, if not i'll have to buy a different rail. The Tick rail might be better, isnt so bulky on the receiver but if this looks alright then i'll just stick with this oneAnother issue with painting it is that the buttons no longer work properly, the one to move the slide back into position when its pulled back no longer works at all and the trigger isnt connecting properly to the hammer the majority of the time now. I took a vid of the gun if you want to see it: [link] can see it wasnt firing properly and i had to hold it on the other side to try to get it to connect. The safety is also too slack and goes on sometimes without me realising it, when i was rebuilding the slide a pin and spring came out of it and im not sure where they go to put them back, they make the safety a bit tighter will need to see if i can work out where to put them back
Once the gun is fully finished i will upload a final pic of it, most likely having bought the proper chrome gun. This plastic isnt good for paint sticking to it..

That certainly is different than what you started with. Almost surprised it was the transparent plastic model. Was thinking you bought one stars pistol and one nickel one to make the Wesker model.

This is my first attempted model. It looks fine in this picture but the paint was awful, everytime you touched it it left an indented finger print. Paint doesnt bond well to plastic unless you can find decent paint, some are ok but metallic paints are awful to try and make work they just dont bond well at all. In the end i just stripped all the paint back off and bought a proper chrome gun (as i should have done in the first place)

I'm putting together the same gun for my wesker outfit.
I have the same problem but my Samurai Edge standard model has had it's frame painted (the part I need to be chrome).
Just out of curiosity, where did you get your weapon from? Where they said they'd only paint the slide, cos I dont mind buying another gun. Its worth it lol

Ah cool ok. I wanted this as both a model and for my STARS costume. You got yours painted ok? Mine just wont work right.. Unless its not the right paint or something, just used enamel paint (spray form) I got this one from i think it was bbgunsuk but the proper chrome one is from Zero One: [link] If you look at the stuff down the left hand side you see it says they paint them for no extra cost, didnt find that on any other site i looked at. Yeah the gun aint cheap but they never are really.. They told me all they paint is the slide so i hope they are right about that. Im probably gonna order it early this coming week, this one just isnt working..

One of my friends makes gundam models and he hand paints them, so he's used to painting plastic - he told me its probably best not to use Enamel (can't remember why but I remember him saying don't use it) and use Acryllic instead.
You can get replacement parts i.e. buy the frame (also known as the reciever) seperately on some websites, metal ones are actually as expensive as getting another gun. I'd rather not paint any part of the gun primarily for the reason you said -- paint can stop the gun from functioning.

I got my Samurai Edge from Wolf Armouries and I specified that I wanted them to only paint the Frame. Obviously they made sure it still functions otherwise it would be pointless to offer this service (i dont have any gas to I havent tried shooting anything yet).

Oh acrylic? I wouldnt have thought to use that. Airsoft guns are usually made from ABS which is a horrible plastic for stuff to stick to
Yeah they are as expensive so may as well buy the whole gun. I could try acrylic but im wanting to just buy the chrome gun now. Paint on it kinda rubs off when you move parts eg the bit to push down to remove the slide, and buttons just sticking cause of the paint. I want my model to be good and best way to do that is just to get the proper gun
Never thought of specifying to them, thought they may have some system where they will only paint certain parts which is why i asked. Their reply to me when i asked how they would two tone the gun was "We only paint the slide!" and that was it lol. So thats fine, dont need it and depending on the paint could probably strip it off with white spirit anyway. I have gas that i got with my gun but never tried it. I had to rebuild the slide into the STARS one, had a bit of trouble with the blowback mechanism. Would need to test it with gas sometime to see if it actually functions correctly since i rebuilt it
No problem, they have some good stuff. I also ordered the Beretta gun stand from them but after buying told me it wasnt in stock and apparently they still dont have it (i bought it in january) Emailed the other day about whats going on but no reply yet. Managed to get it but dont have it stocked yet.. dunno whats taking so long
They should just paint the slide, i asked them how they would two tone it as i wanted to keep the frame chrome. Should be fine, i'll be buying it soon instead of messing around with paint again, even if it does work it wont look as good as the proper one
Yeah its alright. I got mine from [link] Hopefully my laser fits it. Thought of getting the TICK rail but it covers alot of the front of the receiver.. Wish these guns came with integrated weaver rails or something

Theres a very rare TM beretta in chrome that comes with a rail. But I think its a discontinued model or only sold in japan.
I've seen some people with them. I kinda like the rail adapter, but I doesn't quite beat the real thing.

The original Edge? I dont have it, i got just the parts (slide and grips) off ebay really cheap as the gun itself very rarely comes up and when it does it goes too high. This gun i painted is just a clear Beretta so i could legally buy it (thought it would be simple to paint it) Most places are long sold out of them now, i've only found a few sites where they still had it in stock. I did however find it on Wolf Armouries the other night when i was looking for another M92F and it is still in stock [link] If he doesnt have a license then its £15 on top of that price to have it painted (though would be a shame to have to paint the edge, i wouldnt want to unless the paint can be easily stripped off. I also found the Ashford Gold lugers somewhere but again i wouldnt want to have to get them painted..) Zero have said it should be 2-3 weeks for my gun to come back in stock, as long as its not as long as my stand which has been nearly 3 months waiting now cause King Arms are so damn slow
Do you have a pic of the chrome M92F you got? Am wondering what the paint job looks like that they put on it.. hoping it will be easy to strip it all off and have the gun back to its original look

Yeah, i highly doubt he'll have another one though. I asked him at the time if he had the whole gun as well (not allowed to list on ebay but asked if he could sell it to me privately) but said he only had the parts which he sold to me. He wasnt actually listing the slide in the listing but had a pic of it there too so i messaged him asking if i could have that too and said it was going with the grips for free. I got them for like £2.00 or something, was surprised there were no other bidders on it considering my idea of just making the gun myself using the parts. I'll upload the restoration shots tonight when I get home from work. It litterly scratched off. I used my door access card and a plastic ruler to scrape it.
DO NOT use anything metal, the weapon is still plastic (except the barrel) and will scratch if you use an abrasive. I tested a scouring pad on the back of a sponge and it made the chrome dull.
Took about 2 - 3 hours to get most of it off... it'll take longer to get it off the details and sights.
Although if your just using the frame then just remove the slide and hey presto!
Shot a few rounds with it last night, packs a punch and hurts... alot.

No problem. Looks really nice. Least the paint was green for a change instead of red which they usually always are. Looks pretty easy to get off, hopefully will just rub off with white spirit. You gots the same rail as me too, probably one of the flashlight/lasers i was looking at too. Hope mine comes soon..

Got mine from Hong Kong (the light/laser) that is. Came within about 5 days, which was nice.
I'm not having luck with the Samurai Edge though. Probably just leave it until I can get one without it being painted.

5 days from Hong Kong? Thats very quick.. Yeah i saw that one on ebay, hard to find one that looks like the one on his Edge in RE5. That one looks pretty good
Yeah would be alot easier to be a registered player so you dont have to have things modified and can just buy them the way they are. I was actually thinking about it but i really dont want to have to do 3 skirmishes in order to obtain the license. Im only wanting the gun as a model and have no intention of using it in airsoft or anything else. Wish there was some other way of obtaining the license

Become a member of a Reenactor's guild. But then you have to play dress up with 50-something aged men in a field once or twice a year.
Yeah I think it was about 5 days. Damn cheap too. Mind you it gets pretty hot after five minutes and the rail adapter doesnt quite fit although I think that's just because I had it on a HFC beretta for a bit and they're alittle wider.
I also tried swapping the rubber grips my chrome m92f had with some from another m92 I had from a few years ago and they didnt fit - I hope the Tokyo Marui ones fit.
I think you were just lucky with ebay and that guy selling those parts. I've contacted Customs/Border Agency and I've asked about getting one imported!! WIll be painted though.

Yeah, not really my thing. Also depends on location, theres one a few miles ish from here, think is called The Hill. I just dont really want to be running about all day on 3 seperate occasions when im not really interested in it. I imagine it would be hot as hell in all the gear and im not in the best shape for running around for however long skirmishes last (i assume they are day long things) I know for the license you have to play a minimum of 3 times in no less than 2 months (to show your 'commitment' to the sport) Yeah not really my thing.. If i can get things painted and its easily removed then thats fine with me. Some sites however dont paint things so is just finding the site that does and has what you want
I have a cheap laser on mine at the moment but it doesnt work. Either the batteries are so old or its because the terminal bit is a bit corroded, need to test with new batteries. Well my rail adapter fits fine so thats probably why yours doesnt. hmm assuming they werent Tokyo Marui grips? If not then they might not fit, depends how they're made. Tokyo Marui ones do fit as my STARS ones of couse are (and thats with a non Tokyo Marui Beretta, though i think it was almost an exact copy of the TM Beretta)
Yep i was very lucky to find them, why i was surprised i was the only bidder considering you cant buy the parts seperately. You should have no problem with Customs as long as the gun is legal (painted 50%) If its not and they check to see if you're registered and you're found to not be, they will destroy the gun. Good luck getting one. I've seen a few on ebay.com but they are $300+ and for that price it would be alot of money on Customs fees (something i got for $100 cost me £20 in Customs on top of it which is the only issue with buying stuff abroad) Paint isnt a huge issue if its easy enough to remove which it looks like it is. Will find out when mine comes back in stock (hopefully a few weeks)

Alright, thanks. Think it would be ok to just remove the slide and put it in some turps or white spirit and just strip all the paint off? Thats what im doing with my current gun to remove the paint, comes off easily. My spring Beretta that i got was pretty thick paint, to scratch it off left scratch marks all over it so i just painted over it black. I dont need the slide anyway cause i will be replacing it with my current STARS one but just for the sake of it looking nicer if i were to use it i'd still want the paint off of it. I know the gun is plastic, still ABS like my current one is just looks like its metal. All i use when im using white spirit is a bit of kitchen roll or something and cover that in it and wipe all the paint off

Ordered it on friday about 22:00. They sent it 13:00 on Monday, got it this morning (Tuesday) at 09:00.

Nevermind they finally replied after yet another email. Has been changed to backorder while they order in more stock. Waiting on another reply as to how long i might have to wait on stock coming in. They still dont have my stand in cause the manufacturer is being so slow
It just had the slide painted then? I asked WolfArmouries and they said they could do that but the slide isnt 50% so they'd have to paint some of the slide as well (which also costs £15 extra) Will wait on Zero getting it back in, is alot cheaper there. As long as they wont be as slow as King Arms at sending out stock, been waiting nearly 3 months on my stand
