The blurry memories that you feed,They don’t do much for me.
And of every little thing I need,
Memories are the least of these.
Pictures taken with the shutter left open
Ink mistaken for something more important
And I’m off to find sweet distraction,
Something random to fill the cracks in.
And if I stare to thunder to hear the lightning,
You’re one step closer to beneath my skin.
Pictures taken to stop hummingbird wings
Ink carved in that defines the being
On the other side someday,
This mind won’t be divided.
This is where thoughts can’t stay,
So I deserve to be reminded…
That the blurry memories we all feed
Are everything to me.
