Description

Cush paced the room in worry, glancing every now and then at the door. Her mate, Niko, had been gone for almost 4 hours, and no one has seen him. Cush was getting really worried. “Niko's capable of taking care of himself...but for 4 hours..?” she muttered to herself. Finally, the door squeaked open and their trainer Liz walked in, her boots caked in mud, and a ball of fur cradled in her arms. She bent down and let the fluff down on the rug as Cush gasped, tears forming around her eyes.

Niko was put on the rug, a bandage around one of his front legs. He winced as he was set down, accidentally stepping on his bandaged leg and flopping on his stomache with a soft thud. Cush rushed quickly over to him, hugging his bandaged leg tightly, causing him to wince once again, but she didn't care this time. “I was so worried about you...” she said, sniffling and clinging to him. “I didn't mean to make you worry.” he mumbled, leaning closer near her.

“Something like this might happen again in the near future, Niko,” she mumbled into his fur. “and when it does, I'll still be here, worrying about you, fretting about you, waiting for you. I will always be here for you. I'll always love you, Niko.” Niko began to blush as he put his free paw around her, wrapping her into a hug. “I'll always love you too, Cush.” he mumbled, giving her a quick kiss on her head. They sat there, peacefully for another hour, silent, but happy. Together.
