Description
Behold! I thought to myself today, WHY arn't there any models of the very first popular female video game character, and resident nintendo kick-ass babe samus and her band of merry metroids?Theres plenty of mario figures out there (except for peach, ofcourse) does nintendo hate its beautiful girls or something? or think that fans are blind for them?
Anyway, regardless of nintendo's problems, I decided this afternoon I would create my own metroid figures! I made her gunship last week from lego, so I built the figures to be in scale of that, firstly making a samus figure (in her varia suit ofcourse) and then used my leftover clay to build a metroid ^^
I used basic fimo oven-bake clay for these (plus some polish and paint) and my rubbish camera on my phone XD (excuse the poor image quality, when I get a better camera I'll upload a better pic)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these blurry pictures, the models are about 2 inches high and took me about 2 hours each to make, they were very fun to make and I hope to do more when I get more clay ^^

Alright, least there's some sign that Samus is a figure now like the other game heroes, that the lil Metroid she spared from Metroid II?

Sweetness.
And as for the lack of toys for female characters - it's apparently a long-standing stigma that toys based on female characters don't sell well with boys. Absolutely stupid idea, but we're stuck with it.

Several Metroid toys have been produced. I currently own a Samus bobblehead, and in the past, I owned a posable Samus action figure. I believe there are at least three others out there, including a phazon suit statue.

well yeah, I have seen some on ebay, but we're talking $100 upwards for even the smallest thing, I think I saw a zero mission plastic thing for sale for something like $999, I don't really wanna spend that much on one figure if I can.

My two were close to $20 each. By the way, nicely done. The figures and ship are great.

well, if you ever wanna sell them sometime I'll give you $30 for them! c'moooon, thats a $10 profit for you, you could use it to buy some shares in a company and win it big on the stock market, then start your own company making figures for us all
