Description
The mysterious Black Onyx is the first non-birthstone (and I use the term loosely, because just about every stone is a birthstone at some point, in one culture or another) in my Gemstone Fairies series. In one myth, Onyx came into being when Cupid mischievously cut the fingernails of Venus while she slept and scattered them over the Earth. Since no part of a God could die, the clippings became the stone known as "Onyx" which means claw or nail.

Brimming with understated elegance, the Onyx Fairy's dark beauty never has to try too hard to be noticed. Black Onyx whispers, it never shouts.
