Very nice! Her smile is so wide, innocent, and sincere - I think that's my favorite part of the whole illustration. Her cape and dress are also nicely done; you really have a way with textures of clothing, you make them look real and almost touchable. And the background is fantastic - in both senses of the word.

Thanks Irina, this one and "Joyful" are my first ever portraits of kids, so it's been an experiment. I agree, I would have liked to do this one in color, but the girl I work with wanted it in charcoal. It's fun to work in black and white once in a while, though.

You're so right, I keep thinking that this would look so sweet in pastels. I guess that's because I'm so used to working in color. I would have done this one in soft yellows and greens, I think. Maybe sometime I'll try coloring it in Photoshop.

Yeah, I like the bunny too! This was actually a First Communion picture and she was holding a little cross, but I couldn't really make it out. Ithought a bunny would be sweeter anyway.
