"You're getting too smug Claus; I'm not doing this for the sake of helping out a criminal town clean up," Razor lowered her voice as they approached Jury's chambers.

"Oh of course, of course...! I would never assume such a thing out of you. Not anymore. No... I'm sure your intentions are more selfish, but nonetheless pure," the Zangoose smiled knowingly. This made Razor's eyebrows quirk in suspicion. Did he actually know what her plans were?

Claus entered first, and was greeted by the strange atmosphere of the spirit pokémon. He took careful steps towards the source of the humming, and managed to bump into a stool. Once he took his seat, whom he assumed to be Jury spoke.
"You want to help sheriff this town? Tell me why. Why should I trust you?"
"Well, you have no reason to trust me at all at this point. But I will do my best to present my case and perhaps sway your decision. As you can see, I am both a sightless and aged Zangoose. My priorities are to spend my twilight years in peace, harmony, and vagabond-like travels. I cannot do this knowing this is one of the most notoriously corrupt villages -- this is of course of no fault to you. You had been in a deep slumber, am I correct?"

The silence gave no real answer.

"I haven't much vigor left in me, but I would like to spend what I do have creating a sort of... Paradise, I suppose you can call it, heh. And it should start with righting the wrong, which I promise you in all my years I have an abundant amount of experience telling which from what!"
"...tell me about your blindness."

Well, at least his tone was much more gentle. Claus set his paws into his lap and drew in a small breath.
"They were cut out, Sir. Some years ago... I was mugged. In that struggle, the thief took my eyes."
"Mmm. My apologies for bringing up a traumatic event."
"It's quite alright. I am asked about it often... Bandits like the one who stole my sight must be reprimanded. This, I hope you now understand, I feel very strongly about."
"Yes. Very well, I will grant you permission to aid the proper authorities of Gambitville."

Being hardly three feet tall, Razor chose to stand in Jury's presence once called in.
He seemed perplexed by the Sneasel who looked as if she was sprouting a dead weed on her head, "You want to help sheriff this town? Tell me why. Why should I trust you?"

Razor smiled, "Because I won't let you down. I believe in punishing those who have wronged the innocent. And although good intentioned, vigilantes should know when to step down. This town has been long existing before they staked claim. You know what you're doing, and always have."
"Flattery? Are you trying to win me over with your compliments??"

She let out a soft laugh, "Oh no Jury. Not me. If it's compliments you want, you'd have to take me out to dinner first. I'm just telling you my perspective. You'd be surprised what the view of the world is like from down here."
"You intrigue me, little Sneasel. I'm not sure if it warrants my trust, however."
Rather than continue pleading, Razor gazed up at the Spiritomb with a sweet smile. He pondered a while longer, but eventually started to become uneasy. She wasn't moving at all, not even an involuntary twitch around her eyes or ears. He could barely distinguish if she was breathing!
"W... Why have you fallen so still and silent?"
"You haven't asked me anything else, and you haven't told me your decision either."
"Erm... I suppose... T-Then, tell me what you would do if you came across someone's purse?"
"I'd check the immediate area to see if anyone dropped it, and if not, I'd bring it here and place it in the lost and found."
"You wouldn't be tempted to steal any of its contents?"
"Nope."

Her demeanor was getting to him; she seemed so confident yet intimidating for such a tiny thing. Yes, this would be an excellent trait to have in a sheriff. With that steely stare alone, she could probably persuade any trouble makers and criminals from doing anything abrasive or illegal.
"...I will grant you permission to aid the proper authorities of Gambitville. Do not make me regret this decision."
"I won't. I'm sure you'll be thanking me instead."

As the Sneasel met back up with her teammate, she finally broke out in her trademark smirk, "Well that was easy. Claus, you wanna divide up some of these chores?"
"Mmm... We did that last time. Would I be asking too much if we actually perform a task together?"
"Alright. You get one, and just one. After that, I'm gonna do the ones I feel like."
