Hi everyone, just a filler post before we resume our regularly scheduled programming of more QS art.

Historical context behind this artwork:

The Battle of Peleliu, which took place from September to November 1944, was considered to be one of the bitterest battles of the Pacific Theater. And one of my favorite shipfus, Denver, was there. She took part in the massive pre-landing naval bombardments of Peleliu, which ultimately had no effect, and thousands of Marines were killed on the island once the invasion began, which originally was estimated to take only a few days. If the Japanese wasn't enough, the excruciating 115 F (46 C) heat would've certainly caused casualties, and that's why Denver's perspiring excessively.
