"So..." you prompted as you poured the boiling water into two mugs.
Sherlock just stared at you quizzically, still not sure about another person hanging around all the time.

"You live downstairs now?"

You laughed as you brought the mugs to the couches next to the fireplace, and spread them out on the table. You plopped down in John's chair and sat criss-cross-applesauce, gesturing to the couch across from you.

"Yes. Now sit here, and we'll talk like normal people."

He quickly told you that he's not normal, and that he's a 'high-functioning sociopath', but he still got up. Sherlock made himself comfortable and picked up his tea, making a face at its dark appearance.

"Black with just sugar?!"

"Just drink the tea."

He rolled his eyes, and took a hesitant sip.

"It's okay."

You couldn't help but chuckle at this. Sherlock really was just a child. You saw kids that needed convincing all the time at the preschool you used to work at. Their parents going to all the trouble of packing them a nice lunch and them just grabbing the bag of goldfish. Sometimes you had to bribe them- "one more biiig bite of your sandwich and then you can eat your cookie!". His face went blank and you could see his eyes scanning you. It felt weird and a little embarrassing.

"What are you-"

"You're a preschool teacher, a wanna be musician- guitarist and singer, actually- but knowing your chance of playing professionally is slim, you just stick with the teaching. You had a lovely day today, your entranced by the city because you've had a long time dream of moving to London- so entranced and excited you haven't ate one meal yet today. You love cats and your-"

"How did you know all this? Did John tell you?"

Your mouth hung open. You had never seen anything like this. Sherlock smiled smugly.

"High-functioning sociopath who is great at making deductions."

"That's...that's amazing!"

He sure did love showing off, and it made him a bit more friendly when someone had a reaction like this to it. You were very different from John, very cheery and happy all the time, but you had a hint of the maturity and inner strength John had too, and he liked it. He decided you could fit in good here, so asked a very important question...



"What do you think about solving crimes?"

"Sounds great! Allons-y!"

John was a little shocked at the two of you when he walked in the door.

"And that is the Aorta"

You were sitting on Sherlock's lap in the kitchen, observing a human heart he was dissecting. He wished to compare it to a pig heart. You found interesting his fascination in doing his own home experiments, and honestly you kinda liked it. When do you ever get to see a human heart up close? And it was even better that he was describing each part to you. At first he was a bit uncomfortable and taken aback when you jumped on his lap and asked him if you could see, but after seeing your interest he realized maybe you could help chase away his boredom.

   "AHEM!"

You were startled by your brother, and proceeded to slide off Sherlock, cheeks blushing.

"Ugh-Um... Thanks for letting me take a look Sherlock."

You brushed aside your bangs and walked past John to the door.

"I'm gonna see if Mrs.Hudson needs any help."

Your brother didn't even respond as you left the flat and began to trudge downstairs. You, on Sherlock's lap. His little sis, on his high-functioning-sociopath-best-friend-flat-mate's lap. And Sherlock, not being a dick. What was happening?
